get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I actually wrote this post five years ago, and then again four years ago, three years ago and two years ago (check out those posts to see a bunch of cute Ally baby pictures 🙂 ). I’m not sure what happened last year, but I’m going to take the post from two years ago and update it for fun!
Well, yesterday was our birthday. OUR as in mine, Brian’s and Ally’s. All three of us have the SAME BIRTHDAY! I know, we’re the “coolest birthday family ever”…as commented by someone on Facebook, two years ago, but we still get similar reactions. 🙂
Brian and I have been celebrating our birthdays together since we started dating in 2005. (Poor guy, he’s had to share his birthday for 12 years now!) And for the past seven years, we’ve shared it with our Ally. I was due on December 17th with Ally, but went into labor late on the 10th and she came six days early on her own. It’s like she KNEW she just HAD to come early! Since then, we’ve been the “birthday trifecta”…and it’s been pretty cool. 🙂
This year, Ally is SEVEN! Goodness, time flies when you have kids! (Especially when you’ve got three!) How do we have a seven-year old!?! Ally is smart, loves to do art, eats plenty of cheesy things and has a sweet tooth like me (two years ago, I wrote about how she ate plenty of cheese and fruit snacks, ha!), wants to wear what she wants to wear (this was also the same two years ago and we continue to fight about clothes sometimes), likes turquoise and purple, is an awesome big sister, and isn’t keeping Brian and I on our toes as much as she used to (it’s amazing what two years can do for maturity!) . And Brian? He’s pretty awesome, too. He works SO hard, still loves to be outside, still eats plenty of cheese but less fruit snacks, wants to wear t-shirts and shorts most of the time, and is a wonderful dad to Ally, Jack and Natalie. He also helps keep me as cool, calm and collected as possible. 🙂
I’ve been blessed with these two amazing people and I love sharing a birthday with them! Here’s to many, many more Ally and Honey! Happy Birthday to US!
I was lucky enough to snag these few portraits of Ally at her new pink desk and in the backyard sporting her new birthday clothes…
How cute is this desk and chair set? JFP bride EmmaLeigh and her future sister-in-law Kim recently opened “Renewed” in Clear Spring, MD. It’s a store of reclaimed/repurposed furniture and decor, and when I saw them post this desk and chair, I knew right away it could be perfect for Ally! We gave it to her on Saturday and she’s been spending so much time there already!
And the most recent, nicest pictures I have of Brian, Ally and I. 🙂
Thanks for celebrating with us, friends! And for always sharing so many kind words and well wishes. 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
