JFP APPROACH

And that's the vibe of photo time...easy, fun and efficient so you can get back to vacation mode. We can meet where you're staying (if outdoor space is suitable) close to sunrise or sunset so we're in the good light. We'll work through a variety of groupings, find out who the funny uncle is and hope for lots of laughs because that's when the genuine smiles come out. Smiling at the camera the whole time not encouraged.

In summer, we can hop on a boat (check out the NEW Surf & Snap session!) or splash feet in the water. In fall, we can chase the colorful leaves. In winter, we can hope for snow and I'll bring the hand warmers. And in spring, we can hope for golden sun against the barren trees. It's all possible within the natural beauty of Deep Creek...

Sessions available for single families, multi-family groups, reunions, bachelor and bachelorette groups, and more. Want to figure out which type of session works best for your family or group?

What's Possible

One of your first thoughts is probably, "What are we going to wear?" There's some value in clothing coordination as a large group, but let's not overdo it...

The more colors, the better, IMO. Things look more natural, less forced. When do you otherwise match 15 people all at the same time? Probably never. Unless you're a bridesmaid or groomsmen in a wedding.

Bib overalls on small children that need held ride up and look uncomfortable. GO FOR COMFORT for family photos, both in your clothes and in how you spend your time. This also helps things look and feel more natural and less forced.

All of the above helps set the Deep Creek vibes I encourage us to capture - natural, relaxed, on-vacation, no fuss, no faking.

Vibes can be achieved by - casual + colorful clothes (if coordination and style are important, go bold with primary or bright colors, fun patterns/prints), bare feet, playing in the yard, hanging on the boat, blowing bubbles, frolicking through the snow.

Just say no to bib overalls and matchy-matchy clothes

I wanted to drop a quick note to tell you how fabulous you were in dealing with and photographing my sweet but sometimes unruly family! Everyone was very impressed with how well you handled us and the number of photo groups you were able to accomplish in such a short time. It’s not easy to please every one of my family members, but you did it!

"Everyone was impressed!"

Deep Creek Families & GROUPS,

And a whole page for black and whites
because they're a big favorite!

This family water fun photo takes you there....

If you're visiting and staying in a rental with a large, flat outdoor space that we can move around in, I'll come to you. (This is easiest for those with six kids under the age of ten.)

The beach area of Deep Creek Lake State Park is the only public water access and it makes for a beautiful photo location - plenty of grass space to move around in, plenty of sand, a rocky shoreline to climb, and water to splash your feet in.

we have six kids under the age of ten. Is that okay?

No worries! I'm up for the challenge! Funny uncle jokes, asking them to come up with gross ice cream flavors and letting them splash their feet in the water will keep them interested.

What do we do if it rains?

We reschedule, if possible. If you're only in Deep Creek for a short time, we'll schedule earlier in your visit so we have room to move if there's bad weather. When available,  session packages for visiting families and groups include a back-up date. Full sessions cannot be done inside.

If it's snowing, we move forward (family photos can be done in winter, too). But if it's insanely cold (#tundraofmaryland), we can look to reschedule.

where will we take pictures?

Moms, dads, grandmas, and grandpas frequently ask...

Can we wear sunglasses?

Absolutely, positively YES!

Send it off!

Hopefully this is a pain-free, quick contact form...

I try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours. If it's Friday, you'll likely hear from me Monday. Warning - if I'm excited about your inquiry and am available to work with you, I'm probably going to call. So don't be afraid of the old school 412 Pittsburgh number that pops up. :)

If you don't hear from me within 72 hours, check spam.

Thank you!
