Alex & Mark: Deep Creek Lake Engagement Session
Alex and Mark’s Deep Creek engagement session took place at the end of October…when we were afraid it would be cold and gray, with very few colorful leaves left from the season. BUT! It was unseasonably warm AND because of our late fall season, we still had plenty of color here in Garrett County! Alex and Mark are also incredibly easy to hang out with and get to know, so really, the session couldn’t have been any better.Â
These two are marrying in Washington DC in August, but visit Deep Creek often with Alex’s family. They enjoy getting away to our corner of Maryland, both in the warm seasons and in the cold. I also found out that they also enjoy the pizza and beer at Mountain State Brewing, just like my hubs and I, so hopefully I can reunite with them there someday. 🙂Â
Our session started at Alex’s uncle’s lake house where we had some beautiful trees and color to work with along the shoreline and in the yard. We then ventured to Oakland so we could capture more of a “formal” setting…one that matches the Washington DC city setting of their wedding venue. And lastly, we stopped at the center of the lake to pop a bottle of champagne and capture another lakeshore scene.Â
Alex and Mark, if you’re reading this, you’re awesome sauce! I’m pumped for your wedding in August and I continue to thank you for your kindness and welcoming ways during our session together. 🙂
Right from the start, we were laughing and having fun together. I love when that happens. 🙂
Mark really likes this tree along the shoreline so I knew we had to include it. And boy, did it deliver! The yellow and orange colors, the grandness of it and the way the branches seemed to flow out over the water…
Oh I forgot about another stop! This sea of yellow! I spotted it during a photography adventure with a friend (we were out taking pictures of all the colorful trees) and really wanted to use it during a session. Thankfully, Alex and Mark were up for it!
And of course we had to stand in the middle of the road for some…mostly to show off Alex’s fabulous blue shoes. 🙂
Then it was off to Oakland for THIS house! What an old beauty, right!? The owner was kind enough to give us free reign over the front yard and is hopeful he can sell the house soon. YEP! It’s for sale!Â
And the house is yellow. My favorite color is yellow… 🙂
A nice little black and white series…
And one final round at the lake…
Champagne time!
Oh you, two. Thanks a million for all the laughs!
