Pinterest Find: Peeps Rice Krispie Treats

I found this brilliant beyond brilliant idea on Pinterest a couple weeks ago and knew I needed to try it for Easter! Not only is it super easy, but it includes one of my favorite Easter candy…PEEPS! (I love marshmallows so naturally Peeps are delish in my mind!)

Peeps Rice Krispie Treats

INGREDIENTS
35 peeps (multiple colors)
6 cups of Rice Krispie cereal
3 tablespoons margarine (I use light to save some calories…always!)

Melt butter in large pot over low heat.

Once melted, place peeps in individual color sections in the pot (don’t mix colors until mixing with cereal).

Of course I bought enough Peeps so there’d be some leftover to munch on. 🙂

Cover and increase heat to medium-ish and allow peeps to melt for about 10 minutes, but make sure you check back often to ensure all peeps are melting and to make sure there’s no burning.

Once melted, combine all 6 cups of Rice Krispies and stir until well mixed.

Pour into 13×9 coated (with cooking spray) dish and press with buttered-fingers (if desired). Let cool before serving and/or cutting into shapes. Recipe adapted from here.

FINAL REVIEW: Simple and easy! No baking, only three ingredients! AND you can now buy Peeps at a HUGE discount because Easter is over. Definitely a fun twist on the regular ol Rice Krispie Treats, BUT not as good. I also wish they would have turned out a bit more colorful. Overall, a special treat that’s totally worth a try!

  1. Hi,
This is just the recipe I was looking for! Thanks!
    1. Using light margarine to save calories – that made me laugh! These are Peeps we are talking about 🙂
    2. You really should NOT be using that non-stick pan ever again! All the finish is coming off and you probably have some in your Peeps treats 🙁 ps Pampered Chef makes AMAZING non-stick cookware!
    3. I would like to link your blog to the my facebook page Dinner with Pampered Patsy. I would like to make sure you get credit for the recipe, but I would like to show the recipe with Pampered Chef tools – our Executive non-stick cookware and our Silicone Small Mix & Scraper and our Stoneware Rectangular Baker.
Please let me know ASAP if I can share your recipe with my photos!
I will be making these and taking the pics in just a few minutes. I won’t post anything until I hear back from you.

    Thank you so much!!!

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
