get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Liz and John are from my hometown of Connellsville and while I had only ever met Liz very briefly before, it felt like I was hanging out with old friends during their Ohiopyle engagement session. Not only we were able to talk about our Connellsville days, but these two made me feel like one of their best friends right away! Big smiles, plenty of stories and just a darn good feeling of connection! It’s couples like them that just make my job so easy and so enjoyable.
John was once a river guide at Ohiopyle, which is one of the reasons they chose it for their session. It’s a colorful, eclectic, unique, small town and I loved exploring with the two of them! Connellsville is only 30 minutes from Ohiopyle and it wasn’t until my recent years that I actually visited. The place is so cool…I should have been visiting long before! But I’m glad I’ve discovered it now as a great photo location. 🙂
Liz, John and I easily moved throughout the town before the weekend crowds arrived and they really did show me everything, including where John used to work. What a fun morning with these two! They were awesome in front of the camera and I can’t wait to do it all over again with them for their wedding today!
Just look at these laughs and smiles…the first few pictures taken!
John actually worked at this shop here on the left! I loved how all the bikes were lined up…
Favorite!
Liz had some amazing shoes…we had to show them off. 🙂
Then we sat on the steps of the cute little white church that sits at the back end of the town. I photographed a wedding there five years ago and hadn’t been back since then. I’ll always be a sucker for a red door. 🙂
Then we visited the Ohiopyle House Cafe. It had such a neat, casual, wanna-be-outside atmosphere. Hopefully I’ll get to return sometime and enjoy a drink on a warm summer evening. 🙂
And these steps! They lead to a red building! There was no way I could pass up this color!
While Liz and John did a little wardrobe change, I took some close-ups of her ring…
For the second round of pictures, we got up close and personal with the water. I had John check this area before we decided to use it. Safety first, friends!
I can’t remember if there was a bee or his ears were sweating or what but whatever it was, it made Liz laugh!
They walked and stood in the freezing cold water for these pictures! It was early June, so the water wasn’t warmed up for summer yet…
Look how cute and snuggly they are. 🙂
Gotta recreate this one at the wedding!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
