Traders Coffee House & Deep Creek Lake Engagement Session: Courtney & Nate

Courtney and Nate’s Deep Creek Lake engagement session is now a part of Garrett County history! This first series of pictures was taken at Traders Coffee House, one of the places to grab coffee and a quick bite to eat at the lake. Traders did some remodeling this past year and took out the comfy fireplace area of the coffee house, the exact spot these pictures were captured in just a few months prior. These are some of the last pictures of that spot and so we’re calling this session “historical”. 🙂

When deciding where we’d meet for their session, Courtney and Nate mentioned enjoying coffee and their visits to Traders when coming to the lake. So on a beautiful fall Sunday, we did just that. After I made them snuggle on the couch for a few pictures, we captured the evening sun at Deep Creek Lake State Park, one of my favorite places to shoot.

If you follow along on social media, you’ve recently seen these two on their wedding day. Their engagement session happened last fall and I had big plans to share these pictures last week before their big day. But things don’t always go as planned around here in the small business owner-mom world, so I’m sharing now!

These two were cute and snuggly and smiley right away! I love when that happens. 🙂

The lovely light pouring in through the windows behind them was exactly what I needed to make these pictures happen!

And then we received even more of that light when we get to the park!

The light bouncing off the lake behind us created such a perfect glow. 🙂

The next few are favorites! Having my couples interact and move during their pictures help to bring out their genuine smiles…

A little outfit change and more sunshine. 🙂

Look at those smiles and laughs!

Continued snuggles. 🙂 They did just as well on their wedding day!

I’ll plan to get their Chanteclaire Farm wedding on the blog, too. Stay tuned!

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
