#lovewhereyoulive

For the first couple of hours of my work day on Wednesday, I ran errands. The post office to deliver some goodies to my clients and friends, my favorite coffee shop for coffee and a muffin, a drive-by of a rental home to be used in a portrait session this week (gotta make sure it’ll be a suitable backdrop!), and the bank to make a deposit. And in each of those errands, I found myself happy.

Mostly from the people I encountered like the “resident writer” at Trader’s Coffee House who was telling me about her upcoming trip around the country to see her three sons…and the friendly, familiar faces at the bank that I see a couple of times a month and always find reason to chat with. And then there’s the lake. Almost my entire drive was accompanied by the lake. We live five minutes from Deep Creek Lake and it’s where I do a lot of my errands. The relaxing nature, sense of calm and general beauty of the area really gives no reason to be in a grumpy mood. Docks are also starting to go in and the sun was shining. Summer is just around the corner and believe me, this lake is a happenin’ fun time in the summer! Just the idea of that puts me and most other locals is a super good mood!

Such a morning really just made me happy. Happy for a good start to a work day, happy to be in a place where people are familiar and friendly, happy to be in a place that is so beautiful and exciting and inviting. And happy to live where I do. 🙂

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
