Johana and David are getting married TODAY! Yep, they’re getting married on a Thursday. Kinda odd, right? Actually, I’ve met a few couples recently that aren’t getting married on the typical Saturday and now near-typical Friday and Sunday. I’ve heard of Monday and Tuesday weddings! Some do it because they want a certain date or they simply just want to do something different. But Johana and David are doing it for her mom. You see, Johana is from the South American country of Colombia. She came to the US to improve her English language and she met and fell in love with David in the process. They’ve decided to have a mountainous Morgantown, WV wedding so Johana’s family has to come here for the joyous event. Johana’s mother plays an important role in the Colombian government and because her schedule is so demanding, a Thursday wedding was one of their very few options.

We met at Valley Falls Park in Fairmont, WV for their session and we were blessed with an absolutely beautiful evening! Not only did Johana and David do pretty fabulous in front of the camera, we had a pretty fabulous location. Valley Falls will definitely be a fave portrait session location as I continue to work in my new WV market. 🙂 Thanks for introducing it to me, Johana and David! And now for some favorites from their session…

When I saw these yellow forsythias, I knew we’d be using them as a backdrop for quite a few pictures! I just love the mix of color…her coral shirt, his blue shirt, and the yellow flowers!

I bet Valley Falls looks BEAUTIFUL in the fall! I can’t wait until that mountainside turns colorful!!

One of my absolute favorites from the session. 🙂

Check back tomorrow for a sneak peek from their wedding!
