JFP’S Five Days of Giveaways: Free Seat to Creative Composition in Photography Class
It’s day two of the JFP Five Days of Giveaways! I just announced the winner of day one and am so excited to continue with this week! 71 people entered yesterday’s giveaway…I was blown away! Everyone loved Hannah’s ornaments, and I hope this next giveaway will be just as cool. 🙂
Day Two: A Free Seat to the Creative Composition in Photography Class at the Deep Creek Lavender Farm
This past spring, I taught a composition class at our local college for their continuing education department. As I was gearing up for that class, Anne from the Deep Creek Lavender Farm asked if I would teach the same class at her place. She and I hosted the class at the very end of June when the lavender was in peak season and we completely sold out the class! We enjoyed four hours of gathering time that included instruction, food (lavender lemonade and lavender cookies were on the menu!) and shooting time in the lavender field. We had wonderful models and despite the lack of evening glow that we were hoping for, it was an all-around awesome evening!
Just a couple of weeks ago, Anne reached out again asking if I’d do the same class next year. So it’s on the calendar! Creative Composition in Photography will take place at the Deep Creek Lavender Farm on Wednesday, June 26th from 5 to 9pm! And I’m giving one seat away for today’s giveaway! This is a $75 value!
In order to enter, just visit the post on the JFP Facebook page and leave a comment! Each comment will be assigned a number (in the order they came in) and a random number generator will tell me the winner tomorrow morning.
Here are some of the pictures I captured during the class last year. We talked about backgrounds and foregrounds, placing our subjects in the far left or right of the frame…
We also talked about horizon lines, negative space and where to place our subjects in relation to the sun…and we were even able to touch upon some posing topics, too!
It was so neat seeing all these students in action! I’ll be excited to teach a whole new group come this summer!
