get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Marcia and Tadas were married in summer at Deep Creek Lake with one of the prettiest Garrett County backdrops I’ve ever seen. They gathered a small group of their closest family and friends, invited them to enjoy a long weekend vacation in a lake house and then married in the backyard of that lake house…with this view!
Their wedding focused on love, family and the Lithuanian traditions of Tadas’s family. The ceremony was intentionally thought out with special music and participation from everyone in attendance. The dinner reception was colorful and cozy on the back deck of the house with florals, red-stemmed wine glasses (borrowed from the lake house), local catering and Lithuanian treats. What a special way for Marcia and Tadas to tie the knot and give their family and friends a real treat!Â
I definitely wouldn’t mind if more weddings happened like this. 🙂 Enjoy a bunch of favorites from their day!
I love my florist friends and want couples to support them as much as possible, but I just have to share that Marcia’s bouquet is completely DIY with roses from the local supermarket and wildflowers picked along the roads of Garrett County…and look how beautiful it is!Â
Marcia and Tadas helped Marcia’s boys put on their finishing touches…
And Marcia helped Tadas place his traditional Lithuanian wrap…
Everyone had their own cup of dirt to add to the tree ceremony…
More wildflowers picked from the roads of Garrett County!
What a beautiful ceremony setting! It was a perfect July day for their Thursday evening wedding. 🙂
Marcia’s boys played the piano during the ceremony…
And Tadas escorted his bride down the aisle. Doing things all kinds of different for this wedding! 🙂
Marcia’s sister officiated the ceremony…
And her boys stood by her side the whole time!
Marcia and Tadas asked each guest what love meant to them and had them share individually throughout the ceremony. This brought smiles, laughs and tears!
Tadas’s niece played the flute…
And Marcia’s nephew performed some magic!
So many sweet moments during their vows…
Before we could step into formals with the bride and groom, we had to snag a fun one with all the kiddos. 🙂
Marcia was such a beautiful bride! And just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. It was a true pleasure chatting with her on the phone before the big day and then working with her on the big day! I was a blessed photog!
These next two portraits are some of my favorites from the day…
Another favorite!
I just loved their dinner set-up! On the back deck, overlooking the lake view and lights strung above…
They also used red- stemmed wine glasses found inside the rental home kitchen. Score!
Lithuanian honey liquor! They asked me to try this stuff and it was good! Don’t worry, just a quick sip at the end of the night. 🙂
Reusable event napkins from some friends! How resourceful, ha!
Traditional Lithuanian bread and wine ceremony to kick off the reception…
Tadas served the honey liquor…
A Lithuanian “cake” for the reception festivities…
Marcia and Tadas, I loved your wedding! I hope you and your family members will return to Deep Creek Lake for many visits in the future! You all seemed to pleased with our little corner of Maryland and we would be blessed to have you as frequent visitors. Thanks a million for inviting me to be a part of such a special wedding celebration!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
