get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I had the pleasure of experiencing my first ever sunrise engagement session in September with this lovely southwestern PA couple. We had rescheduled their engagement session a few times and an early Saturday morning was on of our last opportunities to finally make it happen. After a morning of coffee, donuts and lots of smiles from Megan and Kevin, I’m so glad we had to reschedule multiple times. 🙂
We met at 6:45 in the morning just before the sun came up. We parked in what we hoped would be a safe area near the bike trail in Connellsville (later to find that we weren’t authorized to do so…oh well, sometimes you just gotta go for it!) and made the ten-minute walk (in the cold and fog!) to Megan and Kevin’s chosen engagement session spot – an old abandoned railroad bridge across the Youghiogheny River, just steps from the bike trail. The beautiful colors on the bridge, the quietness of the early morning, the surrounding fog and the willingness of Megan and Kevin to do whatever I asked was inspiring! Despite the early hour, I had so much energy photographing these two in such a magical spot during what seemed to be a magical time of day. If you ask me, Megan and Kevin totally rocked it and I absolutely love that we decided to go for a sunrise session. Definitely one of my favorites of all time!
Megan and Kevin’s dogs joined us during the session. They had quite a lot of energy for 7am!
Megan and Kevin are getting married at The Hayloft in Rockwood, PA, the same place where Brian and I got married over five years ago! I haven’t been back to the venue since then, so I love that I’m going to finally return next year for another wedding!
Megan and Kevin had some awesome outfit changes. I loved Megan’s dress so much, I was tempted to go out and by one for myself! Doesn’t she just rock that outfit!?!
I love all the colors in this next series! The rising sun, the rustic steel, the graffiti and greenery…such a beautiful scene!
That one on the right is a session fave for me!
One last outfit change and some morning fuel…lots of coffee (this couple loves coffee) and a special treat of Dunkin’ Donuts…all the way from Morgantown, WV! I thought it would be nice to treat Megan and Kevin for meeting me so early, and I knew the donuts would make cute props. 🙂
Wow! What a session! Megan and Kevin, you guys were great! Thanks a million for meeting me so early in the morning and for being so comfortable in front of the camera, no matter how many times I asked you to nuzzle or try a serious face. You guys are going to be rock stars on the wedding day…I just know it! 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
