get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
FINALLY. After four straight months of no weddings, it all begins again tomorrow. I’ve photographed a few sessions and events since then, but it’s nothing compared to shooting an extravagant, love-filled, event-filled wedding day. Hanging out with the bride and her maids while they put on their makeup and dresses and talk about the crazy life event that’s about to happen…capturing a proud and anxious grandma waiting for her grandson to greet and help her pin her flower…having my wedding parties jump in the air and cheer out loud during fun and formals…tearing up during the father-daughter dance at the reception…sampling the deliciously-smelling cupcakes at the end of the day…giving the bride and groom a hug and thank you and finding them genuinely grateful and excited for their wedding pictures…being a wedding photographer is indeed one awesome job and I thank all my couples for giving me such opportunities every year.
As I look at my calendar for the 2013 wedding season, I am happy. I am happy because I’ve limited the number of “travel weddings” I have and therefore can be home with Brian and Ally more often. I am happy because I have the opportunity to shoot at some beautiful new venues. Happy because I’ve enjoyed communicating with my couples, some of which have become good friends. And happy because I feel so incredibly excited and inspired as an artist and business owner, and I cannot wait to see what this year brings.
First up tomorrow is Kasey and Jay. They’re from my hometown of Connellsville, PA and have been anticipating this big day for a long time. I’ll never forget meeting Kasey at Sara and Tyler’s October wedding in 2011. She wasn’t engaged yet, but said she knew all about me and would be contacting me as soon as Jay popped the question…and she did. She and I have been planning her wedding photography for over a year and have even had long phone conversations over the past couple of weeks to make sure everything runs smoothly. I cannot wait to join Kasey, Jay and their 340 guests to celebrate their marriage. See you guys tomorrow! 🙂
And an extra shout out to all my other 2013 couples: I cannot wait to see you on your big days and help capture one of the most special times of your lives. Thank you so much for inviting me to be your wedding photographer! I’m excited! 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
