get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Continuing with my “session groups” to help my blogging efforts, here’s TWO “In My Backyard” sessions from last fall!
My backyard has quickly become one of my favorite portrait spots. Yes, it’s just steps from my house and very convenient, but it’s also private and beautiful (especially in the fall)! There’s plenty of grass, lots of trees, open space within the woods…it’s really been an awesome space for my family and a blessing for JFP!
I met Ashley at MOPS in Morgantown. I believe it was through a friend of a friend, and now we’re super good friends! Anytime I have a baby concern or want to have a play date, I text her (and Sara, too…we’re a trio!). It was so nice having she and her three boys over for a session. Davis, the newest member of the family, was only a month old. And, in true Garrett County fashion, it was cold (45 degrees maybe?). But these four were troopers! Cold hands, cold noses…they didn’t care! It was all about having fun and getting some updated family portraits. 🙂
This portrait made it on their Christmas card! I love when clients use their pictures on Christmas cards! 🙂
Dana made Ashley laugh…hard!
Oh Jackson! He was such a ham!
Such a sweet little boy. 🙂
Fun fact: That blanket isn’t actually a blanket. It’s a handmade tablecloth I got while studying Spanish in Mexico seven years ago! The colors are PERFECT for fall portraits!
Please notice Ashley’s face in this one. Just smiling, normally, as her son hangs upside down by his feet. It’s like this happens often at home or something!? 😉
Now it’s time for some mama-and-her-boys portraits…
Some fall favorites from 2014 for JFP! 🙂
Jackson has such great style. Red elbow patches on his tan corduroy blazer!?! C’mon now! 🙂
A favorite for me. 🙂
After the session, I treated Ashley and her family to a home-cooked meal! And we took some quick portraits of Mr. Davis since he was finally awake!
Next fall session…the Hubers family! They’re from the eastern side of Maryland, but frequent Garrett County for weekend getaways and vacation. They came into town in October and wanted to take advantage of the beautiful foliage for updated family portraits! I’m so glad I was able to squeeze them in on the calendar…
Their dog – fastest dog I’ve ever seen!
We were at Miss Dylan’s mercy most of the session. She definitely had a mind of her own and wanted to explore…
Wherever Dylan went, we followed! She sat on a rock, mom and dad sat with her. Whatever we could do for some nice family portraits!
Some family favorites from my backyard from 2014! Capturing families having fun together is a must for JFP!
My Ally kindly let Dylan borrow her pink chair. 🙂
Dylan was getting a little tired of taking pictures, so Dad tried cheering her up for just a few more…
Fall was so beautiful in Garrett County and our backyard last year…I cannot wait to see what this year’s season will bring! But first, let’s enjoy spring and summer, and all the warmth that hopefully lies ahead! Happy Tuesday…and Happy Spring!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
