I met Chelsi and Nick for the first time on their wedding day. I know it sounds crazy and some of you are thinking that’s a bad idea, but Chelsi and I had corresponded enough via email that we felt comfortable with that being our first meeting. She was confident about her wedding photography and I was confident we’d work well together. If there’s confidence on both ends, I’m okay with it. Of course I’d much rather meet my couples first through an engagement session, but those aren’t for everyone and I can respect that. Now on to the wedding… 🙂
Chelsi and Nick were married on a BEAUTIFUL October day. It was sunny and warm, and the leaves were abundant with color! Really, it may have been the best weekend during fall of 2014 to get married! We were lucky!
They were a little “quieter” than most of my couples, but they trusted me…and in turn, were so laid-back about everything. Chelsi and Nick were fine with all of my suggestions and didn’t mind snuggling in front of the camera. Again, they were confident in their wedding photography decision and that translated so well on their wedding day. I had an easy job that day, my friends. 🙂
Chelsi wore TOMS! Always a fan of TOMS on a wedding day. 🙂
One of my all-time favorite ring shots!
Chelsi and Nick got ready at the church, so I was able to hop over to the sanctuary for some detail shots before guests arrived…
I love that I was able to get these guys to laugh and have fun right from the start!
Back to Miss Chelsi and her maids…
A favorite black and white portrait on the right. 🙂
The superhero garters were a surprise for Nick!
So many classic black and white moments coming up!
Words of wisdom and congrats from grandpa. 🙂
We had some lovely light pouring in through the trees for fun and formal pictures at Camp Muffly!
So good at snuggling! I was impressed. 🙂
Love these two of Chelsi…
So thankful for colorful fall leaves! What a backdrop!
Again, more awesome snuggling from these two!
The guys…laughing and having fun again. 🙂
The Camp Muffly event hall is covered with beautiful wooden ceilings and floors, and is a very large wide-open space. This was my first time visiting the new hall and I was happy to see another quality venue for weddings in the Morgantown, WV area.
Pepperoni rolls! A West Virginia tradition!
Beautiful cake by my friend Laura of Lolita’s Cupcreations in Morgantown!
Chelsi and her dad didn’t dance slow for long. They busted out into a faster, more fun father-daughter dance that really helped get the party started!
Chelsi and Nick…thanks for having me! And most of all, thanks for having confidence and trusting me. You guys were beyond easy to work with and I’m so grateful for that! We got a ton of awesome pictures because of it and I hope you’ll enjoy them forever! 🙂
