Travel-Theme Baby Shower for Bekah

In 2006, Brian moved to Hagerstown, MD right after college to start his new job. While there, he met a WONDERFUL group of friends who we became super close with when we lived in Waynesboro, PA. We’ve remained good friends with the group since moving to Morgantown, WV almost two years ago and are super thankful for their friendships. Up until just a couple of months ago, Brian and I were the only ones with kids in the group. Jamie had Paisley in April, Bekah is due with Ben in July and now Jess is pregnant and due in November! We absolutely LOVE that our friends are having kids and we cannot wait to share this new life journey with them. ๐Ÿ™‚

I traveled to Hagerstown to celebrate Bekah and the coming of she and Steve’s baby boy, Benjamin. Since Bekah and Steve love to travel and have literally been around in the world in their seven years of marriage, our good friend Kelly thought it would be appropriate to have a travel-theme baby shower. Bekah and Steve have also decorated Ben’s room in a travel theme, so it was doubly appropriate!

Popcorn snacks for the guests to enjoy while Bekah opened her gifts…Kelly had so many creative ideas!

Maps as placemats…brilliant, Kelly! ๐Ÿ™‚

The “Baby Benjamin” sign was my idea! Well, Kelly knew we’d put those maps on the wall somewhere, but I suggested including the name. ๐Ÿ™‚

And peanuts because that’s the snack you’d receive while traveling on a plane. Again, BRILLIANT Kelly!

The guest of honor! My good friend Bekah and her baby bump! ๐Ÿ™‚

How cute is she?? Just so excited for her little man to arrive.

Bekah’s 90-year old grandmother, who doesn’t make it out for much, made it to her shower. Such a special treat for her family. ๐Ÿ™‚

Guests shared some travel advice with kids for Bekah and Steve because we all know having little ones won’t stop them!

We played a game of “Daddy Knows Best” (thanks for the inspiration, Jamie and Jill!). I gave Steve a list of questions, he answered and Bekah had to guess his answers. For every one she got wrong, she had to wear/hold a travel accessory…neck pillow, leis, car keys, road atlas, morocco…

And there’s the parents-to-be on the right! Bekah and Steve, we’re sooooo excited for you guys! We cannot wait to see you as parents and do some lovin’ on little Benjamin. You guys are going to do so great! ๐Ÿ™‚

Bekah and some of her old school friends. Four of these ladies are currently pregnant and Jamie just had her little one less than two months ago. Quite an active group of parents! ๐Ÿ™‚

And now for our group…myself, Kelly, Bekah, Jess and Jamie. I miss seeing you girls every week, but I’m so glad we’ve kept in touch and remained friends over the past couple of years. Brian and I really cherish our friendships and are so excited that our group is growing with babies! See you all soon…probably when little Benjamin arrives. ๐Ÿ™‚

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it moreโ€ฆand plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

Iโ€™m not sure Iโ€™m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesdayโ€ฆ

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
