2020

I wasn’t supposed to be available for their wedding day. They’re getting married on 10/10/20, the most popular wedding day of the year AND the Saturday of Garrett County’s Autumn Glory Festival…the Saturday I try take off every year, so I can enjoy the festivities with the family.

But just before Tory and Nick inquired, those Autumn Glory Saturday festivities got cancelled and I suddenly became available…and I’m so glad I did.

I first talked with Tory and Nick while I was on vacation last month (in the parking lot waiting for our Walmart Pickup order, to be exact 😜). They decided on a small wedding here at Deep Creek Lake with only immediate family and knew they wouldn’t need a lot of time to plan. They came to Garrett County this past weekend (all the way from Washington, DC) for their engagement session and we had such a nice time at Sang Hill Farms and Swallow Falls State Park! Tory’s mom even joined for the day trip so she could help with the dogs, so I got to know her too! (I love that people come visit our corner of Maryland, for so many different reasons! 🥰)

Thanks for visiting, thanks for doing all that driving in one day, and thanks for inviting me to be a part of such an intimate wedding celebration, Tory and Nick! I cannot wait to see it all come together for you next month!

P.S. We totally lucked out with having both zinnias and sunflowers at Sang Hill Farms! They planted so there would be a few rounds of sunflower blooms and we also hadn’t had a frost yet, so the zinnias were still alive! (Parts of Garrett County got frost last night, so we beat it by just a few days.)
