Deep Creek Lake Wedding Photographer
Erika and Jay were married in June at the beautiful, long-awaited White Barn At Lucas Farm in Oakland, MD, not far from the Deep Creek Lake area. The barn was brand spankin’ new (more on that just below) and Erika and Jay were just beaming with joy to be THE FIRST wedding at the new venue. Erika and Jay’s personalities combined with the excitement of this new venue made me doubly excited to be a part of their day!
When Erika and Jay came to me and said they were going to have their wedding at a venue that wasn’t even built yet, I was excited! Ok, maybe just a tiny bit worried (booking a venue after only seeing a sketch of it, that’s gutsy!), but I was mostly excited. The venue was being built by some local friends and it was going to be white. ALL WHITE. A white barn wedding venue in Garrett County! YESSS! It was sure to be a stunner and Erika and Jay had complete confidence that barn owners Brittney and Matt (continued congrats, friends!) would make things happen.
And they absolutely did!
So on the first Saturday in June, Erika and Jay’s family and friends gathered outside at the large oak tree for a sun-filled ceremony and were dazzled inside the beautifully decorated and curated barn. It was quite a day for so many people, and I’m excited to finally share it all on the blog!
My mom and I were blown away by Erika’s dress! We hadn’t seen anything like it before! It had a taupe tone to it and the bead work was stunning!
Hair by Brandi at Cobblestone Hair Studio at Deep Creek Lake! Highly recommend Brandi and her staff!
DJ Moose helping our groom. Both are such sweet guys!
The White Barn has got private spaces for both the guys and girls to hang out in and get ready, which helped keep everyone at one location…and kept me happy with all the white walls and ceilings! So much nice, natural, bright light!
And here’s the bridal suite! The old windows that Brittney and Matt had installed add such unique charm!
Bouquets by the fabulous Trish of Cove Pastures in Accident, MD…just minutes from the Deep Creek Lake area!
And the sweet little flower girls admiring all the bridal suite details…
Everything about Erika’s bridal look was beautiful!
Jay surprised Erika with a secret message on the soles of her shoes. What a guy!
They shared a first look behind the barn…
Love these smiles!
How about this for a ceremony entrance!? Doors and decor items were provided by The White Barn’s sister company Enchanted Emporium and Trish of Cove Pastures added the florals!
The big oak tree making a statement on the barn’s property…
Old church pews also provided by Enchanted Emporium!
Officiant and friend Paula Thomas provided some friendly comments and stories during the ceremony. She’s always such a joy to have at weddings!
Definitely a favorite from the day!
Their bouquets were just beautiful!
Definitely a favorite! You were stunning, Erika!
Time for the grand white barn and all its loveliness!!!
Antique yellow couch by Enchanted Emporium!
Centerpieces also by Enchanted Emporium. A little bit of one-stop-shop at The White Barn…
Barn owner Matt built this bar! Such talent over there!
Every view of the barn was beautiful…I just couldn’t get enough!
The ceiling! So grand!!!
Just look at it! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
Harvest Moon Catering of the Deep Creek area did a stellar job with the food! Mashed potato bar anyone!?! YES!
The DJ loft serves as such a good bird’s eye view of things!
Custom built by Jay’s son. 🙂
The sunset light was gorgeous! So glad Erika and Jay were okay with stepping back outside for a bit. Our last formal portraits of the day took place in the same area they shared their first look… 🙂
More fun and laughs from these two! What an awesome couple!
I especially loved the way the up-lighting looked on the white walls!
More snaps from the DJ loft…
And more up-lighting color!
Thanks so much for having me, Erika and Jay! I’ll come hang out with you guys again any day! And Brittney and Matt…CONGRATS on your beautiful venue and good luck as the wedding seasons continue. I know you guys will continue to do great things for weddings in our area!
