THE WEATHER
The warmth has continued! We’ve had a mix of sunshine and rain, mostly. Rain is predicted for Saturday, but Sunday is shaping up nicely – some 7-degree temps and maybe no rain! Monday and Tuesday also look nice with 70+ and sunshine in the forecast.
Remember, as you plan your summer weekends at Deep Creek, we’re usually 10+ degrees colder than the surrounding areas…and in summer, we may see 50 degrees overnight. So bring a hoodie.
THIS JUST IN
The main road to Swallow Falls State Park is STILL CLOSED. They’re repairing a small bridge on Maple Glade Road (the main road through the park) and the park ranger I talked to yesterday said they’re hoping it’ll be fixed by Memorial Day. In the meantime, you can take the “back way” into the park. More info here.
There’s a new pottery place at Deep Creek? Polska Polish Pottery! Looks like they’re open seven days a week.
THINGS TO DO
Cashmere Clothing Co is celebrating it’s 5th birthday! Ladies, go do a little shopping this weekend.
Savage River Lodge has announced their next round of Wine in the Woods events (they’re actually having one May 18th)! Check out the calendar and see if any line up with your calendar. Highly recommend this event! Take a group of friends, hang out at the bar in the lodge afterwards.

Looking ahead…the Deep Creek Farmers Market starts Friday, May 24th!

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
