The Beauty of Winter

This past weekend, Morgantown (and many other parts of the country) were turned into a winter wonderland. There was snow everywhere and the flakes were big and plentiful. I found myself staring out the window quite a few times admiring the beauty of winter…and secretly hoping that someone would want to take some snowy portraits with me. 🙂

Every time it snows, that’s my hope. I envision what the portraits could look like and share my excitement on Facebook…just trying to entice someone! So far, in the past two years, I’ve been unsuccessful. But instead of dwelling on the fact that no one has taken me up on my offer, I’m just going to share the beauty of winter that was Morgantown (and our backyard) this past weekend…

The first few are actually from our “front yard”…we live in an apartment complex (not for long, though…building this spring/summer 🙂 ), so there’s not much…

The green chairs don’t belong to us…it’s part of one of the neighbor’s horticulture display. Not sure how they ended up at our place, but they’d be super cute in a session!

Evergreens are always pretty in the snow!

I’ve used this fence as a backdrop for many of Ally’s pictures over the past year and a half…

So picturesque in our backyard, eh!?!

Oh I can just picture a couple in love, holding each other to keep warm right beside that tree…

So that’s the beauty of winter in our backyard! Anytime it snows, consider it a location for YOUR snowy portraits. I’ll even give you a discount for coming to my place and braving the cold. 🙂 And don’t worry, if you’re a warm-weather lover, I’m not wishing for winter to stay longer. I, too, am excited for spring and the seasonal change!

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
