get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Today is Jessica and Coltan’s wedding day at Deep Creek Lake! October 20th and it’s going to be sunshine-y and warm! How about that!?! For this #TundraOfMaryland corner of our state such conditions are a little unheard of this time of year. But hey, no complaints here!
I first met Jessica and Coltan when they came to my house during their wedding planning trip in Garrett County. They brought their parents and we all sat around my kitchen looking at albums, discussing wedding plans and just a little bit of life in general. They were all so easy to talk to and I quickly realized how kind-hearted Jessica and Coltan both are. They reaffirmed this 100% during their engagement session this past spring…
In an effort to capture my couples in a comfortable setting, I’ve been asking them questions like, “What do you like to do together as a couple?”…”Are there any places that have special meaning in your relationship?” Jessica and Coltan both agreed that they are “outdoors people” and often find themselves camping together. So Swallow Falls State Park, jeans and flannels is what they chose! And I think it ended up fitting them quite nicely. 🙂
Enjoy their engagement session and be sure to look for their wedding pictures on the JFP Facebook page!
Coltan made it pretty clear that he didn’t mind getting snuggly. He clearly loves his girl! 🙂
Coltan and his hat, they come as a pair, so it was only fitting that he wear it for some pictures. Even though I may usually shy away from this (creates too much darkness on one’s face), I wanted to make sure we captured HIM!Â
A favorite for me!
This might be my favorite spot at Swallow Falls State Park! Tolliver Falls! It’s such a great location for close-up and unique waterfall pictures…
While Jessica made a shirt swap, I snagged her ring for some close-ups…
Still smiling and laughing! Mission accomplished. 🙂
These close-ups are some favorites for me, too!
Before we ended the session, Jessica had a special request. She and Coltan are high school sweethearts and one of her favorite pictures of the two of them involves a piggy back…
So we made it happen! Who doesn’t love an opportunity to get a little fun and playful with their love!? 🙂
Such great, happy smiles! YES!!!
Alright you two, I’ll see you in T minus three hours! Happy wedding day, and thanks for a great session back in May! I’m excited to do it all over again with you guys today!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
