My friend Lauren who is a fabulous wedding planner at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown, WV made this picture the cover photo for her Facebook profile yesterday:
I took this picture in downtown Morgantown four years ago when the trees along the rail trail were in bloom and every photographer within a 50-mile radius wanted to take pictures along the trail. I was lucky enough to be one of those photographers and Lauren’s cover photo update reminded me of this beautiful session. It also got me thinking about what I was doing four years ago…:)
Four years ago, I was living in Morgantown with Brian and Ally in a little apartment near Cheat Lake. I only had one kiddo, my hair was blonde and I had just three wedding seasons under my belt. We had purchased our land and were making plans to “break ground” on building our house that spring.
Things have certainly changed since then. We now live in that house we built in Garrett County, MD, have three kiddos, I have brown hair and I have seven wedding seasons under my belt. And this session brought me joy back then and brings me joy today! So I thought I’d share, and take a look back at these spring blooms and my time with Lauren and Austin…

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
