get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Happy Winter everyone! Our days will officially get longer (yay for more daylight!) and our near-future weather forecasts will probably include lots of snow (at least for those of us in the north). Every year, I get super excited, super inspired and my head swirls with visions of portraits-to-be when it snows! While winter may not be my favorite season, I love nature’s wintry canvas as a backdrop for portraits. Roads lined with snow-covered trees, evergreens popping out against the white snow, fluffy flurries falling from the sky…it’s such a strong contrast to the backdrop I’m used to during the busy times for portrait sessions when colorful leaves, summer sun and bright green grass are all the rage. So while shooting in the snow is a challenge and not at all what I’m used to, I’m always amped to offer snowy portraits because of the one-of-a-kind, only-in-a-storybook images it produces! Just picture the “old school” prints of you and your siblings dressed in head-to-toe mismatched snow clothes throwing snowballs and building snowmen that are tucked away in your closets and shoe boxes. Now change that up by adding your hubby, your kids and your dog, some matching gloves and scarves, and a professional photog, and you’ve got a pretty spectacular set-up for some new snowy portraits!
I’ve only ever had one couple take me up on my offer of snowy portraits. Bummer. I’m not sure what it is about the snow, but people don’t seem to get as excited about the idea of snowy portraits as I do. Maybe because they’re afraid it’ll be too cold and their noses will turn Rudolph red, but the end result and the unique-ness of the images definitely make it all worth it! Check out these snowy portraits of my good friends Chris and Kelly taken almost two years ago…
So pretty and fun, right?? Who’s next?? Who wants some snowy portraits?? Anytime it snows and there’s some accumulation, THINK SNOWY PORTRAITS! And then call or email me and we’ll set something up. 🙂 Of course, we’ll cross fingers that the roads are clear and that it’s safe to meet first. Here’s your chance to get some one-of-a-kind, only-in-a-storybook images!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
