Ally In The Snow

Well, it’s the day after Christmas…one of the days I dread the most. There’s so much excitement, preparation and anticipation that builds before Christmas and when the big day is over, I feel deflated. What’s next? What do we look forward to now?? Of course there’s New Year’s, but to me, it doesn’t quite compare to the celebration of Christmas. What about Valentine’s Day? Nah, not that exciting either. So I guess the next exciting thing to look forward to is the warmer months of spring and summer? I’m not a huge fan of the cold, dead-like winter months, but it’s something I must endure every year. Sometimes it’s something I’d like to wish away and quickly plow through, but I’m reminded by this morning’s TV shows, emails from friends and Facebook statuses that I must remember the good times we just had (literally yesterday!) and cherish the time I have now. I shouldn’t be so quick to live for tomorrow, the weekend or even the next season. Because as everyone says, “time flies”, and before I know it we’ll be celebrating another Christmas, Ally will be growing up even faster and I’ll be missing these times that I have now.

So instead of being bummed that Christmas is over, I’m going to try to look forward to the little things that happen every day…all the little things that don’t normally seem to mean as much because they aren’t part of an exciting holiday. It’s up to me (and you!) to make the things happening now to be just as exciting as yesterday or the next big event, even if it’s just Ally (playing) in the snow…

Enjoy every little minute! Before you know it she’ll be grown with a family of her own! You’ll be missing these quiet moments too along. She is getting to be such a little lady……no more baby!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

In one year she has learned to appreciate the snow. I remember last year; you were so excited about the snow, and she did not like the cold. These are adorable pictures.

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
