get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
This past Saturday morning, I had an absolutely WONDERFUL meeting with a new friend, Nicole. We talked about weddings, married life, having kids, photography, event planning…a whole smorgasbord of topics! But what I loved most about our meeting was the fact that it was our first meeting. We had only communicated through a few emails prior to our meeting, so I was really unsure of how things might go. I knew we wouldn’t have any problem talking about weddings and small business work, but what I didn’t know is how excited, inspired and motivated we’d be leaving the meeting, our first meeting. Nicole’s ideas are bursting at the seams and she’s yearning to make the local wedding market better. She wants to be an inspiration and helping hand to other local couples through her super new business, and I couldn’t be more excited to try to help her out! We’ve been emailing back and forth with numerous ideas for a styled shoot and a possible future BIG project. And just to give you a little insight…a pink barn, a black and white striped tent, coal mines and magazines have all been topics of conversation. 🙂
Exactly one month ago today, Nicole took a risk and sent me a “random email”, as she likes to call it. She’s a Morgantown native, noticed and enjoyed my blog (yay!) and is getting ready to embark on a very exciting journey…an event planning business of her own! She caught my attention with the mention of a possible styled shoot, along with her courage to stick her neck out there and contact another wedding industry pro, so I knew I had to meet her…and I’m so glad I did. She and I connected so well and have been connecting ever since…after just one meeting! Her “random email” turned into a crazy-good teamwork opportunity and I really think we can to do some great things together.
Thank you, Nicole, for taking a risk and sticking your neck out there…we need more people like you in the biz world! Here’s to your new business, new friends and new opportunities! 🙂
P.S. Nicole literally just started her event planning and vintage rental business Emma Love Events and she wrote her first blog post a couple weeks ago. She’s a phenomenal writer with an awesome vision for her business and a super sweet person, so you might want to put her on your radar. You can check out her blog here.
P.P.S. This may be the only time you ever see a blog post without a picture. I should have taken one of my new friend Nicole, but I didn’t want to seem like a total creepster. It was only our first meeting. 😉
P.P.P.S. Are you a small business owner looking to connect with some others in your industry?? Consider sending a “random email” and see what happens!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
