Deep Creek Lake Photographer
March is here and it’s time to think about summer! With Easter just a few weeks away, I feel like March is going to fly by. And once April is here, winter will officially be over, and May will be just around the corner…which means June is almost here…so basically, it’s summer. HA! Ok, I’ll stop lying to myself. We live in the #TundraofMaryland and can sometimes see snow in May, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about winter coming to an end and the warmer months beginning…SOON! 🙂
For the past few summers, my calendar has been packed full of sessions with visiting families here at Deep Creek Lake. Almost every week (and sometimes multiple times in one week), I drive in and out of the coves at the lake to photograph these families at their vacation homes. Big homes, smaller cabins, backyards filled with trees, and backyards filled with shoreline. Families of ten, families of 26 and families celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. For some, it’s their first time visiting the lake and I’m always excited to share my “local insider” info with them. For others, they’ve decided to ditch the beach and have been coming to Deep Creek for many summers. It’s an opportunity to make memories and capture them…and I’m so thankful for all the families that continue to invite me. 🙂
My 2018 summer calendar is already filling up! I’ve got sessions with visiting families in June, July, August and just got an inquiry for one in September. High fives to everyone who is planning ahead and a little nudge to those who might be considering…because I love this job and I love where I live!
Enjoy a look into the R family’s session at Deep Creek Lake State Park. It’s not at their vacation home, like so many of my sessions, but the park makes for a great alternative. Before sessions, I drive by the home or check for pictures online just to make sure the outdoor space will work. And if not, we head to the park! This particular evening, we were blessed with sunshine!
I love these pictures of the cousins hanging out together…
Grandparents and their grandkids! Always a must with families. 🙂
And then the grandparents with their kids…
Then it’s time to break down the individual families for some group shots. Lauren is the one who found and contacted me. Aren’t her little blonde babes the cutest!
Deep Creek Lake has a beach, y’all!
Toes in the sand…required! 🙂
One more large group shot in the sand!
Her curls! And that smile and that jean jacket. 🙂
So ready for sand and sunshine and lake life with my families this summer! It’s almost time, guys!
