It’s hard to believe that summer will officially arrive this weekend! After the cold, snowy (I think Garrett County got almost 200 inches of snow!?!) and seemingly long winter, it’s finally time for wonderful, beautiful summer! Unfortunately, though, that does mean another MOPS year has come and gone. Another year of meetings, kiddos, delicious breakfasts, many cups of coffee, conversations, laughs, tears, guest speakers, play dates…it’s all behind us, and it’s amazing how quickly it all went. Maybe because we were so busy? Or maybe because we were having so much fun? Or maybe it’s because we love MOPS so much and never want to see it end!? Whatever it was, it made the year seem to fly by!
We did end our wonderful year with the “famous” MOPS Spa Day! Every year, we have a meeting dedicated to pampering our moms. Free manicures, haircuts and styles, makeup application and mostly kiddo-free…it’s like a day at the spa, except it’s all done in a gymnasium and you’re surrounded by 100 other ladies. 🙂
The Beauty Bar in Morgantown was a HUGE part of this year’s event and I’m using this blog post to thank them personally! And get them a little extra PR since they’re a new business in town (I like to support other small businesses when I can. 🙂 ). Free of charge, The Beauty Bar sent their staff to pamper our moms during this special meeting. Moms left with new hairstyles, fresh makeup, and newly manicured fingers…such a special treat! And The Beauty Bar actually “serves” moms on a weekly basis, too! Every Monday from 9am to noon they have complimentary childcare for the “Mommy Mornings” program. How neat is that!?! Ever try to get your hair dyed, cut and styled with a toddler running around!?! It’s definitely a challenge, but The Beauty Bar has taken that challenge away!
So whether you’re a mom or just someone looking for a salon in Morgantown, definitely check out the ladies at The Beauty Bar. They’re super friendly, they have a beautiful place (it’s literally a “bar” for hair and nails!) and they like moms (and their kids, too!). Thanks again to The Beuty Bar staff for helping to make the MOPS Spa Day possible!!!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
