get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
My weekend adventure for Marianne and Tripp’s wedding started with a 3.5 hour drive to Bridgewater. I spent the night in the town that brought Brian and I together….the same town that brought Marianne and Tripp together.
I met Marianne during our freshman year of college. As the college years progressed, we saw more and more of each other and became good friends. She lived down the hall from me sophomore year and then again senior year. We hung out with similar groups of friends and always found each other at weekend gatherings. Marianne was always a joy to be around and I was reminded of that on her wedding day.
When I arrived at her childhood home, Marianne greeted with me a big smile, big hug and a kiss, and right away I knew it was going to be a good day. At every turn, Marianne was beaming and she never said no to a picture. Her happiness was contagious and Tripp complimented that well. They both have the ability to light up a room and bring smiles to everyone around them. They just make you feel good. π
This wedding was one of my easiest ever. Marianne and Tripp were soooo easy to work with and they were always smiling. We had enough time to take all the pictures we needed and family pictures went off without a hitch, despite the massive group picture put together for Marianne’s family. I was able to take a little break at the end of the reception and join all my BC friends on the dance floor. Overall, pretty stress-free and very enjoyable. Enjoy Marianne and Tripp’s beautiful day! They are an absolutely lovely couple!
Marianne’s shoes were a big hit! She bought the shoes and feather clips separately. Clips came from Etsy, y’all! If you haven’t checked out Etsy yet, you must! Especially if you’re a bride-to-be planning a wedding!
I was excited to catch this sweet moment between Marianne and her dad. π
This was pretty much Marianne’s attitude the whole day! So wonderful to photograph such a gorgeous smile!
I loved Marianne’s parents’ front porch. I think I could have taken pictures here all day!
Such simple bridal portraits, but so beautiful…
One of my favorite pictures from the whole day!
This is the first time I had two guys as the boutonniere-pinners. And they did a pretty fine job. Thanks Mr. Becky and Mr. Rachel! π
It was a humid day…hence Biggie’s reaction in the picture below…
Because of the outdoor conditions and lack of shade, I was thankful to find this well-lit room inside the church…
Final pictures as a single lady! Not a bad way to go, right!?! π
I think Marianne looks extra gorgeous in this picture. π
Sister pose!
The clouds were rolling in, but we thankfully didn’t get rained on during pictures. The clouds definitely made a great backdrop against the mountains and green trees…
I knew I needed to let them have fun in their pictures. Shows their true personality as a couple. π
A BC friend of mine insisted on snapping a few pictures, so I let him. This is one of the very few times I’ll actually be included in the wedding collection! Sharon, the lady in the middle, was my suite mate during sophomore year at BC and then my roommate junior and senior year. We had some good times. π Oh, and Erin, the lady on the left, I love her curly hair! She’s a good BC friend, too.
So happy I caught this moment…
The food was to die for! They served ribs, mac n cheese, roast pig and lots of yummy sides! Very southern-appropriate. π
Capturing laughs, smiles and tears during toasts is one of my favorite things to do at the reception…
The dance floor was bumpin’ the entire night! So glad I got to join everyone at the end. π
Oh Mallory. π
Noisemakers for their grand exit! What a neat idea!!!
Marianne and Tripp, I have nothing but good things to say about you guys as a couple and about your beautiful wedding. I absolutely, positively enjoyed myself 110% and thank you guys for being so wonderful to work with! I cannot wait to see you guys at future post-BC gatherings. THANKS A MILLION for having me! You’re awesome! π And thanks to all my BC friends who were at the wedding. You made things extra fun and I’m so glad we were reunited once again!

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
