Kasey & Jay: Engaged – Ohiopyle, PA Wedding Photographer

I met Kasey at one of my weddings last October. It was Sara and Tyler’s big day and she came up to me and said “When I get engaged, you’re doing my pictures!” I was so flattered that she knew who I was and was declaring her love for my photography as a complete stranger!  She’s now engaged and planning a wedding for next March. Kasey was a super sweet girl during our very brief meeting at the October wedding and she’s been nothing short of super sweet ever since.

We started Kasey and Jay’s engagement session at their new home in the woods of Connellsville (my hometown!). They have a gorgeous log cabin home and I couldn’t resist not using it as a backdrop for a few pictures. We then traveled up the mountains to Ohiopyle where we nearly sweat to death! HA! Finally, we ended the session back at Kasey and Jay’s home where Jay had a few unique picture ideas himself. Read on to find out more. 😉

Kasey wanted Waldo to join for a few pictures. He was such a well-behaved doggie!

This was our second pose of the evening. They knew how to work the camera. 😉

The Cucumber Falls area at Ohiopyle made for some dreamy pictures…the one on the right might be a session fave for me!

So dreamy and creamy, don’t ya think!?!

On to the bridge to show off the crafty props Kasey and her mom made!

Kasey was trying to get Jay to loosen up a bit. He admitted not wanting to take pictures, but he stuck with it. Thanks, Jay!

How cute is this!?! I’ve never seen it before and I bet you haven’t either. I don’t think Kasey will mind if you “steal” the idea! 😉

Oh this is another session fave for me! I think it showcases their individual personalities so well. 🙂

Jay started showing his playful side towards the end and we got the picture on the right…

This was Jay’s doing! He was enjoying the session, but didn’t know it until the end. 😉

Ok, a third session fave for me! Kasey, you look STUNNING in this one!

Jay had one last request before we closed for the evening. He wanted to get some pictures of Kasey getting dirty and working outside since apparently it’s not part of her normal routine. So he made some mud and set up the scene…

And Kasey just went with it. I don’t think many girls would have done this, but high five for Kasey for having fun and making her man happy!

Kasey, thanks so much for saying hi to me at Sara and Tyler’s wedding last October. I’m so glad we’re working together for your wedding and I couldn’t ask for a sweeter client. 🙂 Even though it was stinkin’ hot for the engagement session everything turned out wonderfully. We got some beautiful pictures that really show who you are as a couple and I hope you’ll enjoy these forever! Looking forward to the big day in March!

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
