Kathryn wore a PINK dress! A PINK bridal gown on her wedding day! That should pretty much be all I need to say for you to know that this wedding was AWESOME and definitely unlike any I’ve ever shot or been to before. How many brides wear pink on their wedding day? I’m guessing very, very few so Kathryn was one in a million on her special day.

Kathryn and Skip got married at the Clarion Hotel Morgan in Morgantown, WV. Their ceremony was held inside the ballroom where large candles and strings of lights set a moody, yet romantic tone. We took pictures after sunset outside in the streets of downtown Morgantown and finished the evening with a rooftop reception. Kathryn and Skip’s wedding was very sophisticated and elegant…and will always be remembered (to me) as the “PINK dress wedding”. 🙂

As I was gathering up Kathryn’s bridal details, she directed me to the bathroom to check out her dress hanging on the door. When I walked into the bathroom, closed the door and saw the PINK dress hanging, my mouth literally dropped open. I didn’t know she was wearing a pink dress so it was a total surprise!  A very delightful and exciting surprise, I might add. 😉

Kathryn looked STUNNING in the pink dress and she pulled it off so well! She also does a pretty good “Versace” face. 🙂

One of my most favorite veils ever!

I’m not gonna lie, the ceremony was dark…really dark! I even heard grandma say, “You’re going to have to help me walk because I can’t see!” to the groomsmen as she was coming down the aisle…haha. 🙂

Kathryn’s entrance was beautiful and grand…

And Skip’s reaction was priceless. He couldn’t hold back the emotion.

This part of the fun and formals took place before the ceremony and before the sun set, so it was much brighter out now than when we revisited with the entire wedding party a couple hours later…just to keep you in timeline order. 🙂

I think Skip likes the camera. 😉

Back to the brick wall for round 2 of fun and formals! This time it was after sunset…yes AFTER sunset, which meant we were losing light fast! But I love the colors the light left us…

Kathryn and Skip’s cupcakes were from the Cupcakerie in downtown Morgantown. I only tried two of the four flavors and BOY were they good! I especially liked the margarita-flavored cupcake. 🙂

Emotions were flowing during the speeches…

Soooo moody and romantic, right? I feel like you only ever see dresses like that in magazines and in movies, so it was a photography fantasy for me to photograph it. Kathryn, you looked like a movie star in the dress and you were one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever seen! You and Skip have a special love and it’s apparent that you pair very well together, so I wish you tons of happiness and love, and I thank you for having me on your big day!
