Julie + Nick: Blue and Green DIY Wedding, Morgantown, WV Wedding Photographer

Julie and Nick’s wedding day was filled with lots of anticipation, DIY details, special moments, laughs and smiles. It was a beautiful, enjoyable wedding day that resulted in TONS of pictures and memories that I was honored to capture. Instead of a long intro, I’ll let the images do most of the talking for this super BIG post. ENJOY!

Julie’s smile was this big all day! ๐Ÿ™‚

Julie’s maid of honor made her jewelry and “decked out” a few more of her bridal details…

Julie also made a few things herself. A necklace for each of her bridesmaids…

Dress time! The girls were just as excited as Julie!

Custom Toms (by maid of honor Katie!) just for the bride. ๐Ÿ™‚

We were a little pressed for time and didn’t have the prettiest space options, but Julie and Nick still wanted to have their first look…even if it was just to calm the nerves and spend a few moments alone on their big day…

I absolutely love this moment!

Now for the ceremony at Christian Student Fellowship at WVU…where Julie and Nick first met…

For the painting ceremony…more on that a little later. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love black and white grandma moments. ๐Ÿ™‚

Julie’s first glimpse of the ceremony and the guests’ first glimpse of the beautiful bride!

Aaahhhh love this moment!!!!

This is a pretty good moment, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Plenty of laughs and smiles during the ceremony…

Instead of lighting a unity candle or pouring sand, Julie and Nick decided to have a painting ceremony after they exchanged rings. Their parents, best man, maid of honor, and pastor all painted a part of the heart that will hang in their home as husband and wife. How cool is that?? I absolutely LOVE this idea and wish I could steal it!

I love that I captured this sweet moment. ๐Ÿ™‚

Julie found this “green house” just down the street from CSF. She thought it would make a good photo spot so she asked the owner if we could use it on the wedding day. The owner agreed and it turned out to be the perfect spot! Thanks for scoping this out, Julie. ๐Ÿ™‚

The entire wedding party wore Toms! Talk about comfort and cuteness!

Showin’ some attitude…

Thank you, wonderful and beautiful glowing light!

A pretty perfect ending to a pretty perfect fun and formal session with the wedding party!

Now for the reception! Check out these blue, green and orange details…all done by Julie, Nick and their team of friends and family!

They even had an “Up”-inspired guest sign-in table! Complete with a real-life “Adventure Book”, which was part of Julie and Nick’s proposal…

The father-daughter dance was PHENOMENAL!

Julie’s dancing skills are simply superb! She and her friends coordinated a few dances for the reception!

A little sparkler action to end this most special and beautiful day!

And at the very end of sparkler row, Julie’s family members said goodbye with hugs and kisses…so sweet!

Julie and Nick, I predicted your big day would be lots of fun and it was! I had a blast hanging out with you, your family and friends (who were especially nice!) and I love all the special moments we captured. You two put together a wonderful wedding and I applaud you for all the details and creativity. I’ll photograph another one of your life events any day! I can’t wait to see where your marriage journey takes you! CONGRATS and thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it moreโ€ฆand plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

Iโ€™m not sure Iโ€™m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesdayโ€ฆ

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
