Oh man, 2014. What a year you were for weddings. Looking back through these couples’ image folders reminded me of how lucky I am to be a wedding photographer, and how lucky I am to have gotten to work with these couples. So this post is for you, 2014 JFP wedding couples. 🙂

You laughed with me, you gave me time for pictures, you stood in the heat, you stood in the cold…and maybe most importantly, you completely trusted me to capture one of the most special days of your lives. What an honor! You put together beautiful wedding days and weren’t afraid to show some love and emotion in front of the camera. And because of that, we made some pretty good teams and produced some pretty awesome wedding pictures…some of which are included in this post.

And just as I did with my favorite portrait post, I’m going to sum up the 2014 weddings with one word…MOMENTS. As I looked through my group of favorites, I noticed that so many of them were moments. Moments captured quickly and thankfully. Moments that provide special insight into the various wedding days and hopefully evoke some emotions for those that view them (a smile to the face, a tear to the eye?). Moments that wouldn’t have been captured had I been one second sooner or one second later. When I’m shooting a wedding, I’m looking for more than just pretty backgrounds, smiles from the bride and groom and the must-capture happenings. I’m also looking for things happening in between all that…the moments that not everyone knows about or gets to see. The moments of emotion and detail. And I think this is something that my 2014 couples have been thankful for. 🙂

And a special note for my second shooters: This year would not have been possible without you, too! I decided to bring a second shooter to every wedding in 2014 and I am so glad I did! From carrying my bags, to fluffing gowns, to grabbing me a drink, to capturing those important moments right along with me…you all did so much! And I’m so thankful you were so willing to work and travel with me. Thank you mom, Callie, Kristin, Danielle, Melissa, Jacqie, Kirby and Stephanie! You were wonderful!!! 🙂

So after 22 weddings in MD, PA, VA and WV…some big, some small…some packed to the brim with details, some very homemade…and some on top of a mountain…I am happy to present my wedding favorites of 2014. ENJOY and THANK YOU to every one of you who invited me to be a part of these awesome wedding days!
