Etsy Finds

I love pretty handmade things so I’m a HUGE fan of Etsy. Ever heard of it!?! If you haven’t, oh goodness! Please go visit their site ASAP! It’s a huge database of small businesses from across the world that sell vintage things, homemade goodies and crafty supplies. And a lot of it is beautifully unique stuff that you can’t find anywhere else! Fabulous! I love being unique. 🙂

My first bride Denise used Etsy for a few of her wedding details, which is when I believe my HUGE fan-ness began. I started mentioning Etsy to a lot of my brides and am now hearing a lot of them mentioning it to me. I love seeing people supporting small businesses and appreciating the uniqueness of art that can exist in things like bridal accessories, event details and home decor.

So with the recent popularity of Etsy, I thought I’d share some of my favorite finds!

BUTTON SOUP JEWELRY

I’m pretty sure this is some of the prettiest jewelry you’ll ever see (if you’re into crafty things like me)! Bracelets, earrings, necklaces and even wine charms…all made from buttons! How cute!! Every color of the rainbow is represented and some of the color combinations are just brilliant. I cannot wait to order a necklace for myself! The necklace below is only $33…such a great price! I’d love to see a group of bridesmaids wearing these. 🙂

HANDZ

I was looking for a special anniversary present on Etsy a couple weeks ago and came across this shop. They sell posters and art prints for home decor. I absolutely love the retro style and bright colors. I hope to hang a few in our house someday. I especially love the camera retro print below! How perfect would it be for the JFP office!?! Only $22!

FOCUSLINEART

This guy keeps it simple and sells one thing – original rustic modern paintings on reclaimed wood. Not only is this stuff super unique, but beautiful and colorful. Who would ever think to hang this on a wall and call it pretty!?! One of the beauties of Etsy. 🙂

BRIGHT DELIGHT SWIMSUIT

This find isn’t a shop, it’s one particular item. I came across it today and immediately added it to my “To Purchase List” board on Pinterest. I really, really want a fun retro one-piece swimsuit for the summer and I can’t find one in stores! Every cute suit that I find is online and if you’re curvy like me, you just can’t order a swimsuit online (you must try it on first). So here’s another swimsuit that I found online. Of course I LOVE THE COLOR, but it’s so totally unique! It can have two straps, one strap or it can be strapless. It can also have a belt…or not. Check out this awesome-ness (too bad it’s $125!)…

See, isn’t Etsy all fun and beautiful!?! Whether you’re a bride looking for some wedding day decor or a new homeowner looking to spruce up your walls, definitely check out Etsy!

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
