Emily & Matt: Cumberland/Frostburg, MD Wedding, MD Wedding Photographer

Emily and Matt are one of the radest couples I know. They’re always smiling and looking to have fun. They overcame long distance and even attending rival colleges (Marshall and WVU). Matt probably stands about a foot taller than Emily and she’s got the cutest scrunchy nose reaction to his jokes and manly ways. They were a blast to hang out with during their engagement session last summer and they didn’t disappoint on their wedding day. They were genuinely excited for their pictures and I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their big day.

Emily and Matt’s wedding day was fabulous, filled with a rad couple, some rad pictures, and some pretty rad dance moves at the reception. ENJOY this beautiful Maryland affair!

Beautiful Emily! One of the prettiest brides I’ve ever seen! 🙂

Emily and Matt did a modified first look. Matt’s sister Lindsey blindfolded him and I lead him into a private room so he and Emily could share some time together before the ceremony. Emily could see Matt, but Matt couldn’t see Emily. It was super cute!

Isn’t this church beautiful?? I just love the way it photographed.

Matt was a big ball of happiness during the ceremony. It was evident when Emily walked through the door and it was evident during their vows and exchange of rings…

You can’t see Matt’s head here, but I think it’s a nice illustration of them as a couple…remember, Matt stands about a foot taller than Emily!

They were being cute from minute one of fun and formal portraits. Must have been the practice from the engagement session!?! 😉

A favorite JFP bridal portrait right here!!!

Matt played football at Marshall so this was appropriate…

We didn’t have a ton of time for portraits at the Lane Center before the reception started, so we worked quickly, only snapped a few and got more later (wait ’til you see the cuteness).

These rad dance moves continued all night long!

Thank you, Emily and Matt, for taking a few minutes during the reception for more portraits. It was well worth it! 🙂

How flippin’ cute are they!?!?! AAHH!!!!

Epic lights at the reception! I loved capturing the natural colors from the venue’s uplighting and DJ’s lights.

Emily and Matt seemed to really enjoy each other’s company at the reception, which was nice to see. 🙂

The bride’s mom breaking it down!

It’s not every wedding that I see a groom bust out moves like this!

Emily surprised Matt with a WVU garter…he was not happy!

Oh what a beautiful wedding and a beautiful couple! Emily and Matt, thanks for a fabulous day…and thanks for being so cute! You guys were once again super easy to photograph and I love how excited you were for your pictures. I’m so glad I was able to be a part of your big day and I hope we’ll be able to work together again in the future! Have fun in South Carolina!

Jessica, the pictures are awesome! You did a fantastic job! Thank you for all your hard work. You certainly captured the essence of the day and that of Matt and Emily. Happy, happy, happy.

I absolutely LOVE their lighting! Care to share who provided it!? 😉

Hi Jenna! I’m not sure of the exact answer to your question, but I’m pretty sure the lighting came from the Lane Center itself. If you’re looking for some colorful uplighting for your reception, Sean Nice (the DJ) has some options.

Jessica, the pictures are beautiful. You’re truly an artist. Thanks for all your hard work. BTW, all the lighting was done by the Lane Center. They had a lighting package that was an add-on. I’m glad we opted for it, as it adddc to the atmosphere and was a plus for the photos. Thanks again, Jessica.

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
