get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I experienced one of the coolest photography adventures this past New Year’s Eve! It was my fourth time photographing a proposal, but because it involved more people than just the two love birds (and because of all the beautiful snow!!), it seemed a little extra special.
Justin proposed to Jill at her parents’ lake house while her parents and sister witnessed it all…and while I had a bird’s eye view to photograph it all from the top deck! It was six degrees outside, we had just received 10 inches of snow at the lake and the scene was beautiful. Justin and Kim (Jill’s mom) told Jill that they’d be taking a family picture outside. Justin’s dad snapped a few of those pictures on his cell phone and then it was suggested that Justin and Jill get a picture together. After they smiled for the iPhone, Justin got down on one knee and that’s when I stepped into the scene. Jill was completely surprised and it’s all thanks to her now-fiance Justin and mama Kim. They were the brains behind the operation and I’m so glad that Kim found me online! I loved working with she and her husband, and I’m so glad I was able to capture such an exciting time for these sweet people. What an awesome way to ring in the new year!
This was my view from the top deck. So much snow!
And just minutes later, this happened! While it was snowing!!!
Everything was covered in white!
Their first smiles captured as an engaged couple! 🙂
With their immediate family present, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity for some portraits. Jill’s future sister-in-law on the left and her sister on the right. AND the sun came out! What a dream!!!
I just love all these pictures of them! But I promise, more pictures of just the two lovebirds coming next… 🙂
Well of course we have to hoot and holler and be excited about all this! 🙂
Now for some portraits of Justin and Jill…
Ahhhh the sunlight! And the snow!! Just perfect!!!
I love these laughs that we captured. 🙂
Definitely a favorite!
And yes, this is a favorite, too!
Back inside to start the party! Thanks so much for having me, new friends! And CONGRATS Jill and Justin! You should come get married here at the lake! 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
