get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Merry Christmas everyone! Gosh, I can’t believe it’s Christmas again already. We wait SO LONG for this wonderful holiday to get here, and then it does…and then it goes…SO FAST! There’s so much to do, so many people to see, so many movies to watch…and annoyingly, it all comes and goes in what seems to be the matter of a few days. Why must all good stuff come to an end!?!
But if you’re reading this post before Christmas, so much good stuff has yet to come! (It’s Christmas Eve!) Most of our Christmas shenanigans don’t begin until tomorrow, so I have a few moments to write you all…and share some Christmas pictures of my family.
But before we get to the pictures, I thought I’d share some fun Christmas facts about us:
1. Our birthday trifecta happened two weeks ago and now we’ll be celebrating Christmas for the next few days. Three birthdays and Christmas all in two weeks! Whew!
2. It’s become a tradition for me to slave away in the kitchen for a few days and make Christmas cookies. This year, I increased my efforts and made over 20 dozen cookies! And I still have more I want to make!
3. One of my favorite parts of Christmas is riding around and looking at lights. I’m pretty demanding of light displays and which ones are best. Coordinating light colors (you can’t mix LED white and “old school” white!) and “tucked in” leftover strands of lights are high on my list of must-haves!
4. Ally does not like Santa. She likes the idea of him as a character, but not a real person. We never officially took her to meet Santa, but we’ve tried to get her to warm up to him. She doesn’t cry, just runs and hides.
5. Brian and I got bar stools for our birthday/Christmas gifts this year. We’re getting old.
6. I designed our Christmas card this year, and I’m quite proud of it!
I captured that picture all by myself. Just me and the kiddos, in our living room one weekday morning. I took almost 100 pictures and got only a handful of good ones. That’s what happens when you have a baby on the move!
And here’s our attempt at some family Christmas pictures! We snapped two family photos, but I can’t find them…ha! Oh well, pretty sure they weren’t stellar anyways. It was a windy day and Ally was a little grumpy. Here’s what we did capture…
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your friends and family! 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
