Chestnut Ridge Church Christmas Service

Brian and I have been attending Chestnut Ridge Church for about a year now. It’s totally different from the previous church we attended, but we’ve come to really enjoy the music, the messages and the people. It’s where I got involved with MOPS and it’s where Ally loves to go to the nursery every Sunday. While we don’t think we’ll attend once we move to Maryland later this year, I’m hoping to be more involved in the church (photographically!) until then…

So when I saw that Chestnut Ridge was seeking photographers for their Christmas services, I jumped on the opportunity immediately! I remember wanting to photograph last year’s Christmas service after attending because it was so beautiful and so powerful, so being able to do it this year was very exciting! For the thousands of people that attended the Christmas services this year, I hope they were moved, inspired and strengthened through the powerful music and message. I know I was…

I really enjoyed not only serving the church, but also stepping out of my comfort zone when it comes to photography. I did a lot of event photography when I worked at Liberty Mountain, and while weddings are also events, it’s a whole different ball game when you’re dealing with a public crowd, a well-rehearsed show, a large auditorium and a stage full of performers. It was a nice change of pace, I’m pretty pleased with the end result and I cannot wait to do it again!

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
