get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Nicole and Justin’s wedding at Chanteclaire Farm this past Saturday made me a very happy photographer. Their details were beautiful, the venue was lovely, their wedding party and parents were friendly and fun, and THEY were and are an awesome couple.
From the very beginning of our photography adventure, Nicole and Justin were easy to work with. They were comfortable in front of the camera and didn’t mind snuggling. They were friendly and smiley, and they repeatedly reminded me that they trusted me. My confidence in our teamwork sky rocketed and the comfort we had with each other allowed us to become friends. And THAT was such a highlight for me while shooting their wedding! I felt like I was hanging out with new friends and I couldn’t have been happier to share in their big day. 🙂
There was so much goodness about their wedding! What a wonderful reminder of why I do what I do, and why I love it so much. Thanks for that reminder, Nicole and Justin! And for your complete and honest in trust in me. You two were just plain awesome, and I can’t wait until we can hang out again!Â
This is sure to be a wedding day to remember, friends…
Makeup and Hair by Claire in action…
Nicole and Justin have three dogs, two of them joined us during the engagement session, and all three were at the lake house while the gals got ready…and because these three are so important to Nicole and Justin, I made sure to include them in pictures, too. 🙂
You can’t get ready at the lake without a picture WITH the lake!
The lake was busy with boats so the docks were rocking…the girls had to be careful. 🙂
The loft inside the lake house made for a wonderful bird’s eye view of the getting ready moments and I just love this shot of Nicole and her maids perfecting her dress…
Nicole’s mom Sue helped during their engagement session and was SO helpful on the wedding day, too! I was so thankful for her kindness and willingness to help…thanks Sue!
Justin’s shoes! To him, this was the equivalent of Nicole’s gown…his one BIG, special detail for the day. And boy, they were fun to photograph! They were also red. So cool. 🙂
Gotta capture this! Justin and his parents enjoying a beverage before pictures began…
I love this shot of Justin!
New favorite getting ready shot, for sure!
Justin wanted to enjoy some of the cocktail hour after the ceremony so Nicole compromised and agreed to do a first look so we could take the majority of pictures beforehand…
One of my favorites from the day!
Flowers by Farmhouse Fete. EVERYONE was impressed!Â
How cute are they!?! Comfortable and snuggly in front of the camera…that’s how these guys roll!
Nicole and her STUNNINGNESS!!!
Gotta give the groom his GQ moment. 🙂
Another favorite, of course!
Gotta keep snappin’ to capture those in between moments!
Hahaha I hope Nicole and Justin don’t mind me posting this, but it shows their laid-back, comical and comfortable attitude towards taking pictures. 🙂
In honor of the Pittsburgh Penguins winning the Stanley Cup, we had to do a Flying V!
We just couldn’t get enough of this bouquet!
More flowers by Farmhouse Fete!
Capturing these kind of moments is such a ceremony favorite for me!
A wine box ceremony to help seal the deal!
I love this candid moment between Nicole and her dad…
Nicole was taking a break while I photographed some of Justin’s family pictures and because she looked so good doing it, we made it a quick bridal portrait! Holler!!!
Yes, another FAVORITE!
They both wore red shoes. 🙂
Just one more picture of the bouquet…
And one more bridal portrait…how could I not!?! 🙂
Cocktail hour was held in the bottom of the barn at Chanteclaire and the space looked so uniquely beautiful!
Hanging cheese! 🙂
And the upstairs was beautiful, too…
Before the reception festivities continued, I grabbed Nicole and Justin for some sunset pictures…and to show off Justin’s new tattoo…
We also grabbed some pictures in Chanteclaire’s super unique and famous Silo Bar…
These guys sure did love them some country music!
I think this is a good picture to end with, what about you!? 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
