Carrie & Dustin: Purple Outdoor Fall Wedding, Frederick, MD Wedding Photographer

Carrie called me last fall and was excited to chat about what she and I had in common and the coincidences that just couldn’t go unnoticed. We both went to Bridgewater College and we were both on the dance team (but not at the same time). I was the student guide on her tour at Bridgewater College and she kindly reminded me that I did a good job, even though I didn’t remember her (it was a big tour group!). And the same morning she called me was the same morning my father-in-law spoke at the BC Chapel service that Carrie had attended. Carrie and her mom both agreed that we were meant to be!

So Carrie was excited to have me as her photographer and I was excited to finally re-meet her! She was a ball of fun and smiles all day long and I’m so glad commonalities and coincidences brought us together for such a beautiful affair! Hands down Carrie and Dustin had a FABULOUS wedding! The weather was very fall-appropriate, the decorations were impressive, the pumpkins were plenty and the John Deere tractors were an event centerpiece. I absolutely LOVED this wedding and it was an all-time JFP fave. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is a big post, y’all! Just too much fall lovely-ness to share!

Carrie’s dad greeted me right away…probably because I was parking in a non-parking place to take a picture of this beautiful sign. He informed me that it was made by one of their neighbors. So beautiful, right!?! I found out later that lots of their neighbors, family and friends helped make this at-home wedding possible…and really, a fall paradise.

Check out Carrie’s shoes!!! I can always tell it’s going to be a good day when a bride shows me some coolio shoes. And just so you know, it took Carrie four hours to bedazzle her cowboy boots!

The day was filled with so many beautiful colors!

So much fuss over the bridal details and this is what Dustin gets to do before the wedding. Boys have it so easy.

Carrie was so excited to finally start getting dressed! This is why I love being present during the getting ready moments and the putting-the-dress-on festivities! ๐Ÿ™‚

Finally putting on those rockin’ boots!

John Deere had a strong presence throughout the wedding day. You’ll see him pop up here and there. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The picture of the right was inspired by a photograph I saw in the Planet Hollywood hotel in Vegas a few weeks ago!

Pinterest-inspired. ๐Ÿ™‚

A little sass in this bride!

One of my favorites from the day!

It got a little chilly, which is totally expected on a fall day, so Carrie invited her bridesmaids to warm up with a little plaid and a little flannel. Definitely love this idea!

And now for the beautiful outdoor ceremony. Carrie’s family and neighbors transformed her parents’ backyard into, like I said at the beginning of this post, a fall paradise…

John Deere is back! They truly were centerpieces throughout the day.

I love caught-in-the-moment grandma pictures. ๐Ÿ™‚

And check out this grandma! Riding in style…

Pretty sure I spotted the bride first! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Dustin was a happy boy when he saw his bride. They got ready just one floor away from each other and worked hard not to accidentally meet beforehand.

There were lots of laughs and lots of smiles during the ceremony. Carrie is quite the animated person!

She was loving and fun, yet firm during her vows…

Check this guy out! You’ll see him again in a few…

There he is! One of my favorite pictures of the day. ๐Ÿ™‚

Carrie and Dustin had a fun wedding party…

Romance by the John Deere. ๐Ÿ™‚

Carrie requested a jumping picture since they’re a Brethren family. I love this getting-ready-to-jump shot…

This was also Carrie’s idea…Pinterest-inspired. The guys were a little nervous and so were the girls. Not sure I’d ever openly suggest it, but if the bride requests, we’re gonna do it! It’s definitely a fan favorite!

FAVORITE!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

While I was getting this, Jacqie (my second shooter for the day) was getting the one below…(thanks so much, Jacqie!)

And while I was getting this…

Jacqie was getting a little more up close and personal with this great shot…

Cold drinks served in a John Deere Gator! Love it!!!

I want a quilt like this! Too bad I’m too cheap to pay for one…ha!

Whatta ya know!?! A John Deere bench!

Guests enjoyed hayrides while we took picture. How cool is that!?!

Carrie and Dustin’s first dance started out like this…

But quickly turned into a “Call Me Maybe” dance routine! It was pretty awesome!

Oh Carrie and Dustin, I just LOVED your wedding! Everything about it was beautiful, lovely and very appropriately FALL! Your wedding will always be an all-time JFP fave. Carrie, I’m so glad you called me a year ago. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks a million for having me and GO BC!

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
