Before I started this post, I told myself I was only going to share one, or the best one picture from each of my weddings in 2016. ONE. Out of the 800 total images that some of my couples received in their final collections, I was going to choose one!? Ha, that’s funny.

So I gave myself a bit of grace (and a dose of reality) and decided to do it like I have always done. Go back to each collection and try to remember the pictures that stood out the most, or the ones that really said “that wedding” to me. It was still a great task, but much more reasonable for this very non-cutthroat kind of gal. There was so much loveliness in 2016 and I couldn’t bare having to leave some of it out.

Purple and yellow and blue colors. My first elopement, a wedding of just seven guests and another of 300 guests. Weddings back in my hometown of Connellsville, PA and many here in my newer home of Garrett County, MD. Some in the cold, a couple in the rain, and one in extreme heat. Waterfalls, farms and forests. A kilt, some mistletoe and groomsmen getting ready in the dressing room of a haunted house. Wedding parties with 11 groomsmen and 11 and bridesmaids, and wedding parties that included just the bride and groom.

21 weddings and 21 couples. Couples that trusted me to play such an important role in their wedding day, no matter how big or small. And wow, I’m constantly reminded at what an honor that truly is. They invested in their wedding days, and in turn, they invested in me…and I’ll forever be grateful. And maybe one of the best parts of this BEST of my 2016 weddings is the kindness and friendship my couples have shared.
