We had quite an adventure for this session! Amanda and Tom were vacationing at Deep Creek Lake with family and decided it would be a great time to have their engagement pictures taken. They both really enjoy the area and don’t mind the winter season…AND it was Valentine’s Day! How perfect!? 🙂 While it was cold and windy, it was also snowy! SO SNOWY!!! The snow had been falling for hours before we met and it continued to fall throughout the entire session. But what a dream! We were in a true Winter Wonderland and I was so thankful for Amanda and Tom’s willingness and positive attitude. They made this adventure one I’ll never forget…and they absolutely ROCKED IT in front of the camera! After seeing this session, I’m not sure who wouldn’t be up for a snowy portrait session. 🙂

I first asked Amanda and Tom if they’d be up for standing on the frozen lake for some of their pictures…and they said YES! (The adventure started immediately!) The lake had at least 12 inches of ice on it, so I knew we’d be okay. But for added safety, we weren’t far from shore…

 

That’s the Wisp mountain in the background! You can’t see it real well because of the weather conditions, but it’s there!

 

They were being cute and snuggly within minutes! I knew it was going to be a good session right from the start. 🙂

 

There’s the Bolivia blanket again! Keeping people warm and looking good in pictures. 🙂

We spent very little time on the frozen lake because the conditions weren’t great for shooting. But that was fine by me because I had something better in store…SWALLOW FALLS! It’s such a favorite session location for me in Garrett County, MD and while it’s beautiful all year round, it’s especially beautiful when it’s snowing…

We took these pictures to help show off Amanda’s gloves. 🙂

Does anyone else think Tom looks a little like Channing Tatum!?! I noticed it as we were taking these pictures and wasn’t afraid to share my thoughts. Amanda and Tom were highly entertained! 🙂

We made it to the frozen Muddy Creek Falls. When visiting Swallow Falls for a session, I always try to take my clients to this spot…

They requested a picture of Amanda’s ring. Tom did a nice job!

They also wanted some pictures lying on the ground…and the Bolivia blanket came in handy again!
