get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Alaina and Mitch claimed they weren’t getting along the day of their engagement session, but I didn’t quite believe it. They were smiling and laughing together, poking fun at each other and be pretty snuggly in front of the camera. The conflict of supposed feelings reminded me of a recent post I read from one of my fave photographers that suggested treating engagement sessions like dates. Consider an engagement session an opportunity to get all dressed up and spend some special time alone with your significant other…like you would on a date. You’ll get to be all close-up, snuggly and lovey with your soon-to-be husband or wife and when you’re in love, who doesn’t want to do that? You can even prolong the experience (or date) by going out for ice cream or to your favorite restaurant afterwards! Superb idea if you ask me. 🙂
For Alaina and Mitch, I don’t think the engagement session was quite considered a date since they claim they didn’t like each other that day, but I can almost guarantee they left the session happy with each other again!
This was one of the first pictures of the evening. I was pretty impressed right from the start!
All cute and snuggly…and they claim they weren’t on good terms that day. HA!
Session favorite!!!
Alaina blew me away! She did this pose all on her own and I thought it was so cute, and so perfect! She knew how to relax her body, where to place her hands, how to tilt her head and she had a few different facial expressions that really gave us some variety throughout the pictures. She definitely had some model-like qualities!
A little bit of Alaina’s sultry-ness coming out here…
Mitch threatened to throw Alaina into the lake! He was totally kidding, of course!
Alaina whipping out the model look!
Sultry and sassy, Alaina!!! She knew how to work the camera. 🙂
Alaina’s ring is beautiful! Had to stop for a close-up of this one…
Mitch bought Alaina roses earlier that day so she wanted to include them in some pictures…
Check out these looks from Alaina! She knew how to work the camera and the rose!
Sultry, sassy model to fun and playful!
Alaina and Mitch are getting married in August and are having an elaborate Serbian-Orthodox wedding. It’s going to be an all-day event for me, but I’m excited for the cultural and unique experience. If these are the kinds of pictures we captured when they weren’t on the best of terms (I never really believed it), just imagine what we’ll capture on their wedding day! Job well done, Alaina and Mitch!
P.S. This was my second session (here’s my first) at Cheat Lake Park in less than a week! It’s definitely my new favorite session location in the Morgantown area!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
