Fun fact about this session: It took place in my house. Abby’s mama BJ and I met at MOPS last year. They live in Morgantown about 45 minutes away and were willing to come to me for some pictures! I don’t have a studio in my home or even a space I use for indoor portraits…because really, it’s not my style. But when it comes to friends and their little ones who can’t run away from me and just need a simple backdrop with some window light, I’m up for it!
90% of the session took place in the landing area on our second floor. It’s a blank space with light carpet, light walls and a BIG window. (I’m hoping it’ll eventually be a family hang out area with cushy bean bags, a colorful rug, a bookshelf and lots of family pictures! 🙂 ) It was easy to make all these portraits happen in one small space because Abby wasn’t able to move yet. We just needed her to sit pretty and smile! And with the help of mama’s tickles and silly songs, and even brother Noah’s attempts at getting her to smile and laugh, we captured a lot of great portraits of this little girl…
This was taken within the first few snaps of my camera. Abby was probably a little scared of what was going on, but her look is beautiful!
Don’t you just love the pink fluffy tutu!?!
Hahaha this might be more appropriate as an outtake, but I love it!
The next two are session favorites for me. Thankful for mama’s tickles!
Definitely a BIG favorite!
Outfit change. 🙂
This one is definitely a winner!
This black and white portrait captures her sweet innocence so well…
Another fun fact: This blanket came from a bazaar at a local church. It was only $35 and I couldn’t pass it up! It’s come in handy for many sessions. 🙂
I love these candid moments between Abby and big brother Noah…
Thanks for coming to Garrett County with your little ones, BJ! I’m excited for your family pictures this summer! You have a sweet little girl and it’ll be neat to see how she’s grown over the coming months. 🙂
