get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Caitlin and Bryce’s wedding was my first real Pittsburgh wedding experience. I’ve photographed weddings near the city before, but never completely inside the city. I was a little nervous about the idea of driving around the city trying to find the venues and photo locations, but when Caitlin graciously offered to let me ride with the wedding party in the limo bus, I knew everything would be totally fine. Nothing happens without the wedding party, so there was no doubt that I would be there (and not lost!) to capture everything!
Caitlin and Bryce came down to Morgantown for their engagement session last fall and after their stellar performance in front of the camera, I couldn’t wait to photograph them on their wedding day. And boy, did they deliver again! There was a chance of storms off and on all day, so we knew our window of opportunity for outdoor pictures would be slim. We stopped at the Hot Metal Bridge in downtown Pittsburgh for some fun and formals…all captured within like 15 minutes! The storm clouds were rolling in, the wind picked up and we knew we may have to run for cover at any minute. So I warned everyone that we’d need to move fast…and fast they moved! Caitlin and Bryce’s wedding party was one of the best I’ve ever worked with and we wouldn’t have gotten the pictures we did without them. I was able to snap a ton of bride-groom portraits of this rock star couple because the wedding party cooperated and allowed me to get through group shots quickly. So thank you bridesmaids and groomsmen, for following directions and being respectful of our time constraints. And thank you Caitlin and Bryce for rocking it out in front of the camera! Woo hoo! 🙂
Here’s a VERY LARGE selection of my favorites from their wedding day. Enjoy!
I love when a groom wears cool-io socks. 🙂Â
I was given almost free reign at Duquesne Chapel, which I wasn’t expecting. So I was able to get all sorts of pictures (and angles!) of Caitlin and Bryce interacting during the ceremony…
Love this one! They’re so cute. 🙂
Sometimes balcony stairwells have the neatest photo spots…
It was mid-afternoon, so I was terribly afraid of harsh sun, but the storm clouds rolled in and covered it for me! YAY!
LOVE the portrait on the right…
While I was taking the bridesmaids’ pictures, I had the guys lining up for their group shots behind me. Like I said, we had to move fast!
Showing off their socks…
After we left the city, we knew we were in the clear. It could have poured down the rain at that point, but it didn’t! The sun came out and the storm clouds rolled away, so we were able to get some bonus portraits outside the reception venue in Oakmont. Could this day have gotten any better!?!
I went to Oakmont before starting my day with Caitlin and Bryce to capture some details, so here are a few “before” pictures…
And here are some “after” pictures with all details set and ready to go!
Groomsman Tannor’s speech was one of the best I’ve ever heard…and I’ve heard 80+ groomsmen/best man speeches in the days of JFP!
I just love how the green up-lighting turned out in pictures!
Hahaha Caitlin. I think this is a good one to end on. 🙂
Caitlin and Bryce, thanks for an awesome day! I felt so welcomed when you invited me to ride the limo bus and I was so overjoyed at what we accomplished in pictures despite all the circumstances. You guys gave a rock star performance as bride and groom and I’m so glad I was there to capture it all! Thanks a million for having me!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
