get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
This family is my second-to-last portrait session for 2012. Well, unless two babies decide to make early arrivals. 😉 Anyways, it was nice to meet another nice, young family from Morgantown and explore the nearby area of Grafton that I had yet to see. Nathalie and Brian took me out into “the sticks” for their session so we could use the grounds and home of their dear friends. While my car may have gotten some muddy off-road action, it was well worth the small adventure. Nathalie and Brian were super easy to talk to and their friends were so warm and inviting. They were even baking Christmas cookies when we arrived! This little session definitely helped get me into the holiday spirit just a little bit more. 🙂
I did a little grounds exploration while Nathalie and Brian were inside getting Lyla ready. I love finding photo spots that not everyone might choose…kinda like this! I don’t think Nathalie, Brian nor their friends were expecting us to use this tree, that gate and those logs as a backdrop…
It was pretty chilly out that afternoon, so Nathalie and Brian kept Lyla close!
I love this black and white portrait. Such a sweet family moment. 🙂
And then I suggested we use this old truck for pictures! I love the blue color, red barn and logs in the foreground!
A session favorite for me! I love the light and barren trees in the background!
One last stop on the front porch before moving inside to warm up! Little Lyla’s nose was getting red from the chill!
Some solo shots of little Lyla girl…just four months old…
And one last shot in front of the fireplace for a Christmas-y portrait!
The next session you’ll probably see on the blog will be another little family with a youngster…unless those babies arrive early! But don’t worry, between now and then I’ll try to put together some recipes, album design and Christmas posts! Until then, enjoy the holiday season!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
