get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
It seems like every year I love fall a little bit more than I did the year before. I think I’m usually blinded by the disappoint of the ending summer warmth, so I somewhat forget how beautiful and fun fall can be. Between the scarves, pumpkins, festivals, colorful leaves, and chili simmering on the stove, I always find something new that I love. I think it’s safe to say that fall is my favorite season.
Yesterday I took Ally to Rich Farm Kids Day at the Farm with some friends from MOPS. It was a sunny day, the pumpkins were plentiful, the company was friendly, and Ally had a wonderful time being outside exploring new things. I was so happy that I decided to take her out and enjoy such a fall activity together. It’s times and places like that that make me love this season and I’m always bummed when I miss out on all the lovely things that fall has to offer like festivals, parades and craft shows. I’m usually missing out because of work and travel, so today, I’m taking a day off. I’ve been wanting to go to Oakland’s famous Autumn Glory Festival for a while now and every year I have a wedding to travel to, so I’m unable to go with my family. I am super busy with JFP work right now and need as much time behind the computer as I can get, but I’m ok with this decision to take some time off. It’s important to give myself a break so I keep my creativity, patience and efficiency in tact. It’s also important that I spend some precious time with my baby girl enjoying this beautiful season that God has given us. 🙂
Here’s a few snap shots from our day at Rich Farms…
Whether you’re a photographer, small business owner, 9-5 worker or stay-at-home-mom, make sure you take time for yourself and for your family. Enjoy the simple things in life by taking breaks as much as possible. I had a college professor that said for every hour of studying you should take a ten minute break. So maybe for every four weeks of busy time (wedding photographers, that means wedding season!), take a day or two off to relax and recover. It’ll hopefully help keep your creativity, patience and efficiency going strong…and your business/employer, clients and family will greatly benefit from it.
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

I LOVE kid’s day at Rich’s Farm! We went last year for the first time and Kerriann had a blast. Looking forward to going back this year!
I love the Ally pics!! Please keep them coming! 🙂
I was wondering if you would find a pumpkin patch for her. I love the pictures.
