get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Guess what!? After this week, I’ll FINALLY be caught up with my blogging efforts! Meaning I’ll be able to blog quickly and efficiently when it comes to weddings and portrait sessions! I’ve spent the past couple of months blogging everything that was on the “wait list” from last fall to the end of winter, and I feel so accomplished because of it! It’s important to me that I blog often, and that I share all my clients’ images. So I’m excited to be at the end and start a new chapter in my blogging efforts VERY SOON! π First up today is Mr. Reid. I photographed mama Amy in the fallΒ and she was a beautiful subject!Β It was neat to see her go from bump to baby when I met for Reid’s newborn session in their beautiful home in January…
Amy had a few props she wanted to include in Reid’s solo portraits. He was almost two weeks old when we did the session and he was eight pounds when he was born. He was also tired of my photography shenanigans right from the start! π
Then he heard my camera, found me hovering over him and gave me this look…
Reid’s room was beautifully decorated! After meeting Amy’s sister for a newborn session in the fall, seeing their house and talking with Amy’s husband, it’s confirmed that she has a knack for creating and decorating, and she should open a shop! π
Check out the blue chair! Amy made the covering for it and it’s definitely a stand-out piece in the nursery. The color is so bright and fresh, and very fitting for the room!
Mama sitting with her new babe in the nursery rocker next to a window is such a favorite for me. π
After mom and Reid had some moments, we added dad…
Then dad got some solo shots with Mr. Reid…
I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure how these were going to turn out, but I took a chance and snapped them anyways…and they’ve been favorites. π
Time for snuggles on the bed!
This is a favorite for me. π
Gorgeous window light!!
Towards the end, Reid needed some extra soothing. I did step away to give mom and dad time and space, but I also took advantage of these natural moments and snapped a few pictures of mom and dad being mom and dad. π
How cool is the picture on the right? Reid smiling for the camera! π
Next up is Ryleigh! I met she and her parents when she was one-month old, and she was a pretty happy camper the whole time! I’ve really come to find that photographing newborns when they’re just a bit older works out really well! Especially for my lifestyle approach…
Ryleigh’s room reminded me of cotton candy. π
A favorite from the session…
I love these next few of mama and baby. π
Especially the one on the left! There’s just something about the pink colors and softness of the image. π
Daddy and baby. π
Miss Ryleigh slept almost the entire time, so at the end of the session, she was good and snug…and I was able to capture a few solo portraits of her enjoying her slumber…
Pretty in pink! π
Congrats to both sets of parents on their new bundles of joy! And thanks for having me! π
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it moreβ¦and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
Iβm not sure Iβm starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesdayβ¦

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
