get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I am unhappy to report that I did not meet my blogging goal for the off-season. I wanted to blog every wedding and every portrait session that still needed blogged from late 2014 and early 2015 before my busy season started for this year, but I didn’t make it. BUT I am happy to report that I’ve made great strides in my efforts! I’ve blogged more than I ever have in a few weeks time and have a solid blogging schedule set for the next few weeks to keep things going! I strongly believe that blogging and sharing will help my business to continue to grow, so I’m going to keep on truckin’! So here’s two more portrait sessions for you! Both took place in the beautiful Garrett County, MD and both took place in the middle of fall. First, the T family! I took pictures for them a few years ago when Miss Gabbie was much younger, so it was nice to reunite. We met at the Spruce Forest Artisan Village in Grantsville, MD because the family loves dining at the neighboring restaurant and just generally enjoys the area. It was after their session that I discovered what a wonderful session location the village makes!
You never know what kind of poses and smiles you’re going to get from a five-year old!
Haha see! I told you. ๐
Gabbie wasn’t a huge fan of smiling and looking at the camera the whole time, so I asked her to sit with mom and dad and count the leaves on the ground. Great distraction! ๐
When there are kids involved in fall portraits, throwing leaves is a must!
This is a favorite from the session. ๐
Love these mama-daughter portraits!
The Casselman Bridge sits right next to the village, so we were able to hit two great local spots!
Gabbie being Gabbie. ๐ And letting me know that she was done!
Next up is Miss Tessa! I knew she was going to be an awesome client from the minute she inquired. She wrote well in her emails, she was excited and she shared some personal things. I felt like I knew her so well so early in the process and I appreciated her spunkiness. ๐ I felt badly that it was so cold for her morning maternity session, but after she shared that she and her husband enjoy the cold and snow, I thought “How perfect!” We met at the BEAUTIFUL Swallow Falls State Park in Garrett County and had the whole forest to ourselves…
This shot was actually an accident…I hit the shutter too soon! But I like the way it turned out. ๐
And as we started shooting, the snow began to fall! We were both excited!
The green and somewhat barren backdrop of the forest in mid-fall paired with the fluffy white snow fall…it was like a dream!
Oh and Tessa’s hair…so cool! I think she was my first non-traditional hair color client…and it fit her wonderfully! And added some spunk to these portraits. ๐
These next portraits are SUCH FAVORITES!
This portrait is a HUGE favorite! And it looks so good in black and white and color that I had to share both!
Tessa is so good at the soft smile and the model look! I was jealous because I can’t do either!
Love this family portrait!
Oh and this one, too! Definitely a favorite!
STUNNING!!!
Soo moody…I love it!
Some candids with the family…
And a couple of Tessa and her dog to round out the portraits…
I say it a lot and I’ll say it again…Garrett County is so beautiful in the fall! Don’t you agree!?! And so are my clients. ๐
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it moreโฆand plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
Iโm not sure Iโm starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesdayโฆ

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
