get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Next up for the blog is two Virginia portrait sessions! I do work in Virginia because Brian and I went to college at Bridgewater and my in-laws live there…so the connections are still present. Only a small amount of my JFP work takes place in Virginia and it’s nice to have a taste of that “southern charm” every now and then. ๐
I met Ashley and Josh last summer for their maternity session. It was a hot summer evening and Ashley was two months away from her due date. Then, three months later, I met them in their home for their newborn session with Miss Rory.
I remember sitting in their living room talking about life and work with Josh while Rory nursed. And I remember Ashley’s genuine smile and new mommy glow. They made me feel so welcome and are incredibly friendly people…I just know they’re going to be AWESOME parents!
Mommy-baby moments by the window in the nursery are some of my favorites. ๐
Three-week old Rory holding on to Dad’s finger. ๐
Daddy time!
So many good black and white portraits!
Rory got a little fussy towards the end, but Josh snuggled her and calmed her down. ๐
She fell back asleep and we were able to get some close-ups…
Now it’s time for my nephew Joel and his parents! Joel is just three weeks younger than our Jack, so it’s been fun to watch them grow together…and it’s going to be so neat to continue to watch as they get older! They haven’t seen each other in a while and now that they’re both more mobile, it’ll be interesting to see them together during our next gathering. ๐ But enough about the two of them, check out Mr. Joel! He impressed me right from the start! Smiling and sitting and being super cute…he did so well!
We had some beautiful late-fall weather for their session! 60s and sunshine!
Heather’s mom made this blanket and it was very appropriate for pictures!
Haha so animated! ๐
That picture on the right? It was on their Christmas card. Yay! ๐
A family portrait favorite for me!
Awwweeee ๐
Fun fact: We took pictures at their new house! It was still in the process of being built, but they moved in a month later! It really was a perfect spot for their session.
One more family portrait…on their front porch!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it moreโฆand plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
Iโm not sure Iโm starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesdayโฆ

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
