get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
When planning engagement sessions with my couples, I always ask them for location ideas first, especially if they have somewhere special in mind. I want the locations to “fit” them as a couple and reflect who they are and what they like to do together. If a couple enjoys getting dressed up and going out for a night on the town, I’m not going to put them on a farm with bales of hay and cows in the background. We’re probably going to shoot among grand city buildings or on the patio of a restaurant.
So when Tiffany told me that she and Jon were avid golfers and enjoyed playing together, I knew a golf course would make a great location for their engagement session. Then when Tiffany told me they actually got engaged on a golf course, I absolutely knew we needed to meet on a course! After some course consideration, we chose The Pines in Morgantown. Both Tiffany and Jon are members and it’s where their engagement took place. We met on the first full weekend of spring and enjoyed some beautiful evening light. We had the course to ourselves as we rode around on a golf cart and took advantage of the setting sun in our background. This session is very light-filled, with lots of light-hearted laughs…and a cute dog, too! Enjoy my first official engagement session of 2014!
There’s that wonderful light! It remained the entire time I photographed Tiffany and Jon. I love sessions like this!
We immediately figured out that Tiffany can “hold her own” when it comes to taking pictures. She’s got a nice little “model look” and soft smile that we’ll definitely be using again on the wedding day…
Actually, Tiffany and Jon can BOTH pull off the “model look”! 🙂
Romance on the course. 🙂
One of my favorites from the session! Love the light!!!
And more light!! AAAHH!!! This is why I schedule my sessions just before sunset. You don’t get this kind of light mid-day!!
Another favorite for me. 🙂
Don’t you just love how the blowy background light shows off Tiffany’s wonderfully styled hair??
Now for the 18th hole! The engagement spot!!!
And to end the session, we included their dog Rooney in some pictures. He was VERY excited for his JFP debut!
Family of three! A favorite. 🙂
Who loves a good black and white picture!?! ME!!!
Awe, they’re cute. 🙂
Tiffany and Jon, thanks for a wonderful session! You guys were smiley, model-y and pretty comfortable in front of the camera right from the start! I love that we were able to go anywhere on the course and I love that we had such beautiful light to work with all evening. Hopefully we can put most of these elements back together for your big day in November. Happy wedding planning until then! 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
