get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Well good morning, y’all! I’m in a good mood today. 🙂 I had a relaxing Mother’s Day (Happy belated Mother’s Day to all my mama readers!) with my Ally and hubster, AND a beautiful wedding at a beautiful resort with some awesome vendors on Saturday! I cannot wait to show off Kaitlyn and Brad’s wedding (probably early next week), but until then, I thought I’d share a larger sneak peek of their wedding while highlighting some of the vendors that made their day straight up fabulous.
Let’s start with Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford, PA first. Have you ever been there? If you haven’t, you at least need to travel to Bedford and do a drive-by. When I turned the bend on Sweet Root Road and saw the magnificent, massive resort my jaw dropped open. I was immediately welcomed to the resort grounds by rows and rows of white balconies and a front lawn filled with the greenest grass. My mind was quickly running with photo op ideas and I couldn’t wait to explore.
Once inside the resort, I was again welcomed by beauty. So many old, charming and elegant details. Grand staircases, floor-to-ceiling window treatments, blue and white tiled floors…literally picture-perfect. The spa was calming and fancy, the guest rooms were well-decorated and the event ballroom was simply beautiful. Really, it’s just a majestic and grand place, and I can’t believe I had never been there before. I really, really, really hope I get to return in the near future, both for work and play! So if you’re still looking for a wedding venue I absolutely, positively recommend Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford, PA.
(I wish I had taken some pictures of the various rooms, hallways and details of the resort, but I didn’t, sorry. I need to be thinking ahead to possible blog posts when I visit such places!)
Now for florals! While at Kaitlyn and Brad’s wedding on Saturday, I learned of a new (well, at least new to me) vendor from Uniontown, PA – Pepperberries. Owner Anne doesn’t really consider herself a wedding vendor, but has done some wedding events in her career. Maybe some of her natural and artificial floral designs could work for your wedding? She’s a very sweet and friendly lady (also mom to a friend of mine from high school…Hi Jamie!), and I was very impressed with her work.
And finally, Jeremy Ganss…DJ extraordinaire! I was actually impressed with Jeremy BEFORE the wedding day even though we hadn’t yet met in person. He emailed both myself and the resort event coordinator with a timeline of reception events. I know most DJs put timelines together and share them with the bride and groom, but to email the photographer two days before the wedding!? Major points in my book! And he continued to collect points at the reception. Jeremy’s set-up was minimal, yet impressive. He practiced a good balance when it came to DJ-couple communication during the celebration, turned an empty dance floor to a packed dance floor in a matter of minutes and he made sure I was ready to go for all the formalities. And to top it off, he even warned me that the large cookie display was being set up so I could snag some pictures before the guests indulged. Definitely a big scorer of points in a photographer’s book of vendors! 🙂
Thank you Bedford Springs, Pepperberries and Jeremy Ganss for helping to make Kaitlyn and Brad’s wedding one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever been to (and for helping to put me in a good mood on this Monday morning 🙂 ). Hopefully we’ll get to work together again sometime soon!
Look for a complete blog post of Kaitlyn and Brad’s wedding in the near future!! 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
